"Sorry", he says stiffly, "I always was terrible at keeping in touch. Out of
sight, out of mind, you know? Sorry."

"If its any consolation," he adds as an afterthought, "I haven't been in
touch with Morganna either."

"Okay, you heard the doctor. Apparently its time for little girls to go to
bed. Which berth is yours?" He helps her to her cabin and then into the
shower if that is where she wants to be.

"Shall I make some coffee while you're busy? Then when I get back you can
tell me how you ended up here."
