"No." Danny turns back and says quickly, "Look Woof, this whole thing is more dangerous than drawing to an inside straight with an IOU that you can't cover in the pot and the guy across the table from you showing a pair of aces...and named Pickax. Anybody even *near* the table when the play is made is in danger of making a *permanate* fold. I'm taking it on the lam just as fast as my feet can take me. If I could do it, I'd get off the planet and our of the system." > > Presuming he declines the drink, go to a newsstand, pick up the > > latest newsies, then hit a different watering hole than the Karlos' > > and read the news, as well as the surreptitiously palmed and > > pocketed note. Woof doesn't see, or feel, anyone following him as he walks down the street. He picks up a printout at a corner newstand for a mark and crosses the street to a small bar called "The Prince's Arms." Stopping just inside the door he sees that about half the people in this bar are dressed in the uniforms of the Imperial Mark Marines. Looking around quickly he doesn't see any officer's uniforms, but there are several tables of NCO's here as well as a number of the enlisted from the lower ranks at tables and along the bar. Music from a jukebox is playing and there are several couples, both uniformed and in civilian clothing, slow dancing to the bluesy music. Woof sees an empty booth against the far wall and moves across to it, taking a seat. "What can I get ya?" a barmaid asks appearing at his booth almost as if by magic almost as soon as he sits down. She is a young blonde, a little on the plump side, but busty, with her hair pulled back from her face into a pony tail. Several strands of her hair has gotten loose and is hanging in stings down the side of her face. She smiles at Woof, "Don't think I've seen you in here before." Eris AKU
