997.274.2100: Leaving Mark

After doing the calculations and double checking them against each
other. Ricardo and Shawn are satisfied that they are ready to get a lift
time.

Ricardo comms the tower and makes arrangements. The /Mae Lee/ can lift
at 2105 tonight.

Lysia stores the auto while Woof looks around in the warehouse, for it
isn't a storage locker, it's a full fledged warehouse with stacks of
boxes and crates, six vehicles of various sizes covered with canvas and
plastic, and piles and piles of furniture and furnishings. Everything
appears to be neatly stacked, or stored, and there is a grid of codes
painted on walls and support pillars that could be used to locate
anything stored here. Woof suspects everything in here is cataloged and
in its proper place, too. After Lysia covers her convertible, she and
Woof leave the warehouse locking the door behind them and head back to
the ship.

Jac has returned to the ship with a briefcase filled with cash that he
stores in the ship's safe. He greets Mira in their cabin with a kiss and
a hug.

Cory spends his evening moving the entertainment system, imaging
software,as well as the records upstairs where he stores them on the
currently empty passenger deck.

As the time nears 2100 everyone is getting into their places. Arvitis,
Ricardo, Ilane, and Shawn are on the bridge. Kelly and April are in
Engineering.

"/Mae Lee/, this is Mark Starport Tower, you are cleared for roll out
and launch. Have a good trip."

The ship rolls out onto the tarmac and lifts smoothly into the sky,
angling up as it builds velocity into orbit around Mark. One orbit and
you are given the go to insert the ship onto the vector for your run out
to the jump limit. Ricardo obeys the Mark velocity laws as the ship
heads out. It will take four hours to get out to the jump point at legal
velocity, and he could cut that in half, if he cranked the stutterjump
drive up to max, but he'd also be facing, at least, a huge fine next
time the ship came back to Mark if he does, so he keeps the speed down
to the legal limit.

Arivitis says, " I'm watching the scopes, but there's nobody near us and
it doesn't look like anyone is vectoring in our direction, Ricardo. We
should be clear all the way out to jump."
