It is early morning, just after sunrise, at this longitude, the air outside is warm and balmy, there are only a few puffy white clouds in the distance, and the water is so warm it is almost body temperature. The /Blue Rain/ has a flexible hose 30 cm (about a foot) across. One end can be connected to the ship's fuel take inlet valve and the other dropped into any convenient body of water. The end that drops into the water has a powered pump/filter on it to draw the water in while filtering out debris. Kelly and April will need to haul the hose out into the gentle surf beyond the line where the water recedes on each wave and anchor it there. There is a deployable spiked anchor at that end of the hose to hold it into place. One of them can haul the hose out there, but two makes the job easier. After the hose is deployed, the inlet valve at the ship's skin needs to be opened and the ship's internal pumps activated. It will take about 1.5 hours to fully load the /Rain's/ fuel tanks. That will give the ship enough fuel to make a jump 2. The water can be processed into "refined" fuel in another 1.5 hours, or long before the ship has time to lift off and get to the jump point.
