OOG: Is this some new feature of the list or what? I also notice we've all started coming in (Player) for us or (Mod) for Eris...
OOG: I don't think the dice roller feature is really all that new, although, I think Karen had it turned off. The Player/Mod tag is new, though. Karen is migrating everything over to new software with more/different features. At this point, I don't *know* the complete syntax or feature list for the dice roller. What I *do* know is that putting roll #d#+# at the beginning of a line (where # is some number) will produce results like you've seen.
I think it would be better if we could put some more tags on the line that the Dice Roller picks up. Maybe something like the following where the first line is entered by the player in his post (sans slashes) and the second line is inserted by the program.
/roll 2d6+3 "Issac fires his snub pistol at the creature"/ Issac fires his snub pistol at the creature [2d6+3 = 2, 4 (9)]
I'd compare that 9 to the target number and post back what happens, but you...having some idea of what you need to roll...would get immediate feedback as soon as your post hits the list. Personally, I don't mind continuing to roll all the dice behind the scenes, but I thought ya'll might like to have a little input yourselves from time to time.
What does everyone think?
