Is not yet finished. But there is something up there now, that we can build on. It's at - http://matrix.crosswinds.net/~spaceih It's got large bits missing, and the aliens game is almost totally ignored for the moment. I'll make mention of it soon, and get some other stuff up once it's less up in the air. (ie starting...) I'll add more content and more sections as it appears and the need arises. Where it goes from here, is - 1) I check that everyone's browser can read it OK. If anything looks weird please tell me. 2) Could someone please write an introduction to the humans game for me? 3) Does anyone want to write a proper 'article' about currents? It seems a conspicous omission to me :) 4) We need to decide how to present the societies on the web site For the last one, the old Elyria templates are a starting point, and Rylen's sorted out the determinants for me (an example of which should go up soon), but we want a structure that we can fit the *space* society descriptions into. The way I see it, is that we have three choices 1) People describe their societies however they want, mail me the text and it goes in free-form. 2) We copy the structure of the Elyria and Qaiyore pages (ie sections for politics, environment, etc) 3) We use those as a starting point but make our own structure. I'm going for (1) or (3). I think we should at least simplify the Elyria structure a bit if we use it, so people don't *have* to go in to so much detail if they don't want. We can always add complexity later. I also think it would be good if we get the descriptions about each society on one page - on the Qaiyore website few societies have used the description sub-pages. A one-page design would allow a quick paragraph on each point to get us started, with links to more in-depth articles as and when they appear on the list. There *are* some things that are peculiar to a space game, like the appearance and biological considerations of aliens, the genetic background of the human races etc as well. We could create sections for those. The 'call for societies' thread is also a good source, and we could put those up unaltered if people didn't want to create something more concrete. Or, just go freeform and have everyone write up their own website presentation in their own way... --- I'm planning to put up the major system descriptions in a similar (if less detailed) manner, since Rylen's going to get us writing histories and such :) Just a few quick notes about the environment/resources and history would probably do along with a link to the controlling society(ies). So expect to have to worry about those as well -- Edmund (who is scared stiff of people's opinions of the site...) ---------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, send mail to celandra-off@phoenyx.net.
