I admit that Elyria had slightly too much details. It would have been great if all the detail had been available, but this never happened. > A one-page design would allow a quick paragraph on each point to get > us started, with links to more in-depth articles as and when they > appear on the list. This is a very good approach. In Elyria, people tended to provide in-depth information of one subject at a time (like 'military' or 'royal family'), rather than add something everywhere. The one-page design accomodates this much better, and makes it easier to get a fast look on the society. > There *are* some things that are peculiar to a space game, like the > appearance and biological considerations of aliens, the genetic background > of the human races etc as well. We could create sections for those. Is the term 'heritage' familiar to you? Aria uses it to group this kinds of things together. If you don't have Aria, take a look at an example heritage template at http://www.hut.fi/~vesanto/link.elyria/soc/oparolde/heritage.html Of course, you probably want to throw the majority of the detail away, at least initially, but the skeleton would IMHO suit your purposes really well. > I'm planning to put up the major system descriptions in a similar (if less > detailed) manner, since Rylen's going to get us writing histories and such > :) Just a few quick notes about the environment/resources and history would > probably do along with a link to the controlling society(ies). It would be nice if the timeline page would be updated as the game goes along. The stories page someone suggested is also a great idea. juuso -- IMHP Juuso Vesanto juuso@iki.fi http://www.iki.fi/juuso -*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*- The small girl smiles.
