Celandra is a game in which the players take the roles of societies, rather than playing individual characters. The players will invent a society with its culture and heritage, and will guide its development and interaction with the world. Emphasis will be be placed on developing a detailed history of Celandra, along with myths and legends.

The society-specific action pages do take quite a lot of space (at least
they do on the Elyria web site), but the biggest problem might still be
that they are a lot of work -- even if you automate much of the process
with perl-scripts like I did.

True. How about if at regular intervals (say, every 5 turns or so),
the players would be requested to provide a short summary of the
actions during the last interval: ie. update their society
timeline. Of course this is upto Edmund. If he thinks he can do it
himself, it's that much easier for everyone.

She aims it at the creature's head,
And bang bang bang she shoots him dead.
