Celandra is a game in which the players take the roles of societies, rather than playing individual characters. The players will invent a society with its culture and heritage, and will guide its development and interaction with the world. Emphasis will be be placed on developing a detailed history of Celandra, along with myths and legends.

So how about we get some headings for the main society page, that breifly
take an overview of things all societies will want to talk about (probably
nicked from Elyria) People write a paragraph or two about each. Then, we
have more in-depth articles that are posted when people start writing them,
which can be about anything the player desires.

Here's what I propose, with a quick example society

The [Main] Mailing List

---Overview
The mailing list is a collection of interested people from all over
cyberspace. It's overriding aim is to create a working space IH game.

---Systems Controlled - none (or all of them?)

---Appearance and Racial Heritage
The list consists only of Mail, an epheremal substance floated along cables.
Posters appear as approximations of their real form in cyberspace - ie :-)

---Politics and Society
Although having two factions - the Aliens and Humanity, Humanity has been
the strongest power for a long time now. The Aliens are biding their time.
The GM of Humanity is Rylen, who is a hard taskmaster :)

The list works on a who-posts-longest-and-last-wins basis, with ideas
decided by the last person to complain about them, or the person who writes
the longest article. Achievements in this area are recorded on the web
site.

---Military and Other Organisations
The only other organisation to speak of is the silent and mysterious
Lurkers, who do nefarious things in the dark places between posts. :)

---Religion
It is believed that there are beings beyond our comprehension who administer
to the internal workings of the list.

---Arts and Sciences
Stories are what makes the world go round, and Technobabble. A select few
are looked up to in each field, although creativity is rife.

---Economy, Resources & Technology
The only currency is ideas... but Technology frequently fails them as
servers far out in cyberspace go down and interfere with Mail.

links to trading partners here, perhaps...

---Articles
links to larger pieces describing specific aspects of the society, ie.

Legend of the Origionator - many on the list forget that in their ancient
past, their was a post, entitled 'how about starting up a Space Base version
IH game?' on the Other List. All should thank the past and to the writer
of the post. (Louis? :)

Dissertation on the Power of the Web Site - very powerful, I think

Then, links to -
History (holds ancient history outline, and then an actions summary/recent
history summary)
  Determinants (the rules...)

I would also like to add a Predjudice (what the group likes/hates in other
societies) heading to give more idea of how the society interacts with
others.

How about this for the description structure? *I* like it :) We can
amalgamate Religion and Arts and Sciences back into Humanities if you like.
Or perhaps add a Psi section as everyone seems so keen to emphasise it (I
think that would probably fit into Appearance and Racial Heritage, though).
