Below are Reycelan actions for 2844. Late but before easter
anyway...

------------------------
1. Strategic internal action 5/6: Skill enchancement
Main determinants:
* Arts/Sophistication (Good)
Difficulty:
* Hard
Plus/minus:
+ Well established smithies with lots of work
+ Skillfull teachers
- Lack of resources because of Celmyt crisis
Continue
2. Strategic action 1/??: Launch 2nd expedition
Main determinants:
* Resources (Good)
*
Difficulty:
* Normal
Plus/minus:
+ Preparations very well done (+2 last year)
+ Eager crews
+ Knowledge about southern waters & the place for the
new colony is known
- What if the Tsunami is a bad omen...
- Southern waters are always dangerous
Because preparations went smoothly the small fleet will be
launched this year. This time the expedition is larger than the first
one. There are enough people, resources and soldiers (colony has to have
a defence too) to found a colony on southern
shore of Elyria. Obviously also the Companion of Wizards have their
representatives with expedition. This expedition will open a new era in
Reycelan history. Finally the true heirs of ancient Avaerans are going to
follow their ancestors footsteps. The colony on the southern shore is
going to be great for traders and explorers alike. Luckily the great
wave which passed over Reycelan didn't destroy the fleet equipped in
Cethbar harbor. However some see this event as a warning sign.
3. Tactical internal action: Check & repair tsunami damages
Main determinants:
* Authority (Great)
* Exploitation (Good)
Difficulty:
* normal
Plus/minus:
+ Experience in repairing damages
- New catastrophy could cause unrest like on Celmyr
- Fixing damages is little harder because it is spread
widely
Tsunami came suddenly from south and devastated the southern
coast of Pyreth. The damages were not so big as on Celmyr when the
volcano erupted because the island is sparsely populated and major part
lives in northern and central parts. Still fishing communities and other
small villages were more or less destroyed.
King sends experienced repair crews to Pyreth and orders them to
restore the most important villages there. They should also provide
suffering people shelter and help them best possible way. In order to
prevent fanatics to gain momentum also on Pyreth Awenor also sends half
of Pyreths legion to keep order. If any agitation is seen those
agitators should be captured and exiled back to Celmyr.
4. Tactical external action: Act against fanatics
Main determinants:
* Power (Great)
* Military force (fair)
Difficulty:
* normal
Plus/minus:
+ People see that their king cares about them
+ When legion is not actively attacking, people think
that aggressors are the fanatics
- Some may see these actions very hostile and unnecessary
- Fanatics may gain more support
Awenor already has enough information about the fanatic
organisation. That's why he orders the legion stationed on Celmyr to
march out from their barracks. Their orders are strictly to defend
people against fanatic attacks and they cannot attack first. It is
better not to act first because that way all the blame falls down to
fanatics. Legion should also make sure that all criminal actions are
punished according to law and implement them if necessary.
By acting this way Awenor tries to show that fanatics are
nothing else than a bunch of people whose only goal is to cause unrest
and suffering. Awenor also issues an order which states that the workday
for all miners should be around 8 to 10 hours. This way he tries to gain
also their support because they were started the troubles in the first
place.
Key element action: Fanatics advance
Difficulty:
* Hard (-1)
Plus/minus:
+ Support is strong enough to succeed
- Unorganised group
- Legion has an order to act
Fanatic leadership orders their supporters to storm legion
barracks and set them on fire. This should be very encouraging to their
followers who see that the king is no match for righteous people. They
decide not to act on Pyreth because there is so few people and the
leadership is sure king has already made sure that this kind of events
won't happen again.
They also make a statement which states that all unbelievers are
not worthy and should be converted or killed. This'll cause terror and
even more people to change sides plus it also strengthens their true
supporters belief for fanatic cause.
