Celandra is a game in which the players take the roles of societies, rather than playing individual characters. The players will invent a society with its culture and heritage, and will guide its development and interaction with the world. Emphasis will be be placed on developing a detailed history of Celandra, along with myths and legends.

Okay we need to send this out more. The GM's have talked and desided
that we will send this out with the events for each turn. Also at the
bottom is an action form. Please uses that for you actions.

CELANDRA MAILING LIST CONVENTION

This is the irregular monthly posting detailing subject matter and
convention for the celandra mailing list. Please read through the
guidelines and follow suggested links. If you have any questions,
please email them to Juha "Juuso" Vesanto, at juuso@iki.fi or the
relevant GM for the game you're interested in.

                     ~o~ CELANDRA ~o~

The celandra mailing list is home to the various play-by-email (PBeM)
games based on the fantasy world of Celandra: the Unyielding Land. All

the Celandra PBeMs use the Fudgified Interactive History (FIH)
rules. As well as allowing the players to post actions, the list also
provides a forum for discussion of the world of Celandra, the FIH
  rules and other fantasy-related threads.

To find out more about the Celandra games visit the Celandra and
  FIH homepages at:
    http://www.iki.fi/juuso/unyielding/

                    ~o~ THE GAMES ~o~

There is currently two game taking place on the world of Celandra.

  Game 1 GM(s) & Website(s)

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Qaiyore Jason Todd Heaps (jtsl@ibm.net), and M. Keaton
(archangel.press@home.com)

  http://members.tripod.com/~kimril/qaiyore/index.html

  http://www.geocities.com/TimesSquare/Dungeon/5930/qaiyore.html

New players are accepted only if they take an
                       existing non-player society.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

  Game 2 GM(s) & Website(s)

 --------------------------------------------------------------------------

  Eylria Joel Elfman (hurlan@earthlink.net)
                     http://www.hut.fi/~vesanto/link.elyria/

New players are accepted only if they take an
                       existing non-player society.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

If the game is closed, you may still get in if you submit a society
the GM just _cannot_ resist. Other than that GM's do accept
suggestions
from lurkers (like actions/reactions of non-player societies).
  "Fleshing-out"
non-player societies is encouraged, as is opting to play them.

                  ~o~ SUBJECT PREFIXES ~o~

Actions form (Use this as a basis for your actions.)
  (Key: bold = Required
  italic = Strongly recommended
  underlined = recommended.)

Title (a summary of the action, "War w/ the Infidels", "Working the
fields", etc.)
Action Number (action 1 of 5, 2 of 4, ... Also if this is a
multi-year action, what year are you in? Action 2 of 5 (Year 3 of 5))

Description (a detailed explanation of what you are doing. A couple
of sentences or longer, paragraphs are nice, some people actually write
stories along w/ a description of their actions. This is really cool.
The more detailed the more depth is added to the your actions and the
world)

Include the below:

  - What are your doing?

  - What is the motivation for your action? What is the purpose of this
action, how will it affect your society?

   - How your doing it?

The below thoughts for positive/negative results are suggestions to the
GM and the GM is not bound by them:

  - What is your hope to happen if the results are positive? What is
the most likely thing to happen if the results are negative?

Primary Determinent: (what major theme from your society affects this
action?)
Secondary Determinent: (what other theme from your society affects
this action?)
Diffculty: (How hard or easy is this action?)
Weight: (Is this a single, double, triple, etc. action?)
Actors: (Who are the players of your society involved in this action?)

Secrecy: (Is this a public or a secret action, some actions have even
been listed as extremely secret w/ an additional modifier)
Modifiers: (What factors influence the result roll? Limit is 5
modifiers and one of them must be a negative)
