Consider them similar to the egyptians. The egyptians lived in a river valley as do the Milk. but they could hunt any army down in the desert if need be. They them selves offten used the desert to there advantage. Milk does have a river valley, but still a great deal of the country is desert. so they would be able to do the same thing. Besides the milk. just beleave the raids to be radom tribes of Shanari like they have fought many years. So the action is open to be repeated.
