Celandra is a game in which the players take the roles of societies, rather than playing individual characters. The players will invent a society with its culture and heritage, and will guide its development and interaction with the world. Emphasis will be be placed on developing a detailed history of Celandra, along with myths and legends.

[Cel] [qai][admin] Additional information on the status of the Wyr/Tal basin

Below I pasted a copy of the Mirrish activities in 1429 and 1430 that relate to this discussion. After that, I also put the events from 1434 which happen to also affect the region. The short version is: Mir has not pulled its military out of Talishara and obviously intends to stay there, essentially annexing Tirmar from Gomel east (except for the Oracle proper which the Order of Lucia controls). Beyond that, two factions in the region have considerable external support: Duke Caladyn and Agrigax.
Subject: [Cel] Mir ACTIONS 1429

| Title: The Eastern Timar Plan (5 of 5 years.)
| Actions: 0 (reponses and proclaimations to questions raised in the
previous year)
|
| Timar was declared the a mirish principality last year and with it
| several things were brought to the Archmages attention. So this year he
| answears them.
|
| 1) Heir to Yora'Timar Throne.
|
| The Heir apperant to the Throne of Mir (Nirotosa at this point. Then it
| will be his son.) will become the Prince of Yora'Timar. (Bassicly
| similar to how Prince Charles is Heir of the English throne and Prince
| of Wales.)
|
| 2a) Floating City.
|
| The Archmage declares that until the return of the Eerith spirits The
| Floating city of Anneanya would be a Mirish Protectorate. When the
| Eeirth spirits returned they can take the city back as stated in the
| Treaty of Anneanya, or if they wished it would remain a Mirish
| Protectorate.
|
| 2b) Refuges/Seeress.
|
| The refugess are welcomed to settle in Yora'Timar, but if they desided
| to settle they become natives and are ruled as any other citzens of
| Yora'Timar. If any wish to leave and return home they are given the
| oppertunity.
|
| 3) Neither Agrigax or the Dun-Ri really border the Princiaplity of
| Yora'Timar. The Dun-Ri has more land to restore then he knows what to
| do with and Agrigax does not have the military or really the politcal
| stability.
|
| 4) Assignment of the Order of Lucia as protectors of the preisthood of the
Oracle (exact details to be hammered out by relevant parties)
|
| Primary Determinant: Eubrotosa Authruity (Superb +3)
| Secondary Determinant: Military Force (Good +1)
| Diffculty: Hard (-1) (Mainly answearing questions)
| Weight: Single
| Actors: Eubrotosa and Nirotosa
| Secrecy: None
| Modifiers: + The stablility that Mir has brough
| + Last years Peaceful annexation of the area.
| -1 Holdover of nationalistic sentiments

While not technically an action--I have provided a roll for the puroposes of
establishing a "reaction" to the proclimations:
+3+1-1+1+(0-1-1+0)=+2 So long as Mir does not impress to heavily on the
local, familiar nobility and Niotrosa remains in residence in Timar, no
immediate difficulties should arise.

|
| Title: Coranation Ceremony.
| Actions: 1
|
| Nirotosa will be crowned Prince of the Mirsih Princibatality of
| Yora'Timar. The Ceremony will take place outside the Oracle. The Head
| priest of the Oracle will do the crowning. Their will be a huge party
| for the corantation to be held in Talishara and through out Yora'Timar.
|
| Primary Determinant: Wealth (Great +2)
| Secondary Determinant: Nirotosa Consent (?)
| Diffculty: Normal (Its a ceremony and a party.)
| Weight: Single
| Actors: Nirotosa and people.
| Secrecy: None
| Modifiers:+ People need corranation ceremonies to show Authority.
|

+2+1+(-1+1+0+1)=+4 A welcome holiday for a war-weary people and a glorious
ceremony.

| Title: Train more Warmages. (4 of 5 years)
| Actions: 2, 3
|
| Countinue to train.
|
| Primary Determinant: Military Force (Good +1)
| Secondary Determinant: Magic Sophisticaion (Legendary +4) (secondary
| modifier of +2)
| Diffculty: Very Hard (-2)
| Weight: Double (+1)
| Actors: warmages
| Secrecy: little
| Modifiers:
| - No further Eerith directed training
| + Success of the privious warmages

(Previous total for 3 of 5=+1)
+1+2-2+1+(1+0+-1-1)=+1 As the project nears completion, it also moves
towards a moderate level of success (total thus far, +2)
|
| Action 4. Persasion. (3 of ? years.)
|
| Archivest Kabald will travel to Talishara were the Archmage is and try
| to persvade the Archmage to send an expedition to the Tora Jungle. (This
| is for Alan.)
|
| Primary Determinant: Sholastic Sophistication ( Suerb +3 )
| Secondary Determinant: ?
| Difficulty: Hard (-1)
| Weight: Singal
| Actors: Archivest Kabald
| Secrecy: No
| Modifiers: -1 Archmage does not regard this as a priority in comparison to
all that is going on.

+3-1-1+(-1-1+0+0)=-1 The Archmage decides that the resources for such a
mission can't be spared at this time. He would love to discuss the matter
again in a few months (i.e. next turn) and also recommends approaching other
societies with similar interests. Mostly, the Archmage seems terribly
distracted by his political concerns this year.

| Title: The Eastern Timar Plan (4 of 5 years.)
|
| Actions: 1, 2
|
| Mir stops the troops training and places the troops with in the Mirish
| army under mirish leadership, but that is not the main point for this
| year. The Archmage has called for a meeting of the most powerful
| noblemen in the area controled by Mir to meet at Talishara. There he
| will inform them that Timar is being declared a Princibality of Mir and
| that Nirotosa will be crown Prince. He will informe then that their
| will be a council of Noblemen to advice the prince on maters of state,
| and Mir will return to the Oracle the Oracles priest which are under the
| protection of Mir. Also that the noblemen, as long as they are loyal to
| Mir, will keep their holdings. As this meeting is being held their will
| be a parade of the Mirish army thought the city of Talishara. (The
| noice and parade are reminders that Mirs military force is outside.)
| Also before the meeting Mir will be holding public and private fest.
| (Reminders that Mir kept food coming in, and also kept the peace.)
|
| Primary Determinant: Military Force (Good +1)
| Secondary Determinant: Relations (were they Fair or Good.)
| Diffculty: Very Hard (-2)
| Weight: Double (+1)
| Actors: Nirotosa and military
| Secrecy: None
| Modifiers: + The stablility that Mir has brough
| + The peasents have not had any real complaits, and the noble men keep
| their holdings
| + Niortosa's good will tour last year.
| + Reminders before and at the meeting
| - Noblemen want power.
-2 Holdover of nationalistic sentiments (this will drop to -1 next year and
to 0 at the conclusion of the 5 turn action)

+1-2+1+1+(+1+1+1-1) [looks like all the bad rolls for the past few turns
finally decided to level out] = +3
The meeting itself is a huge success. Officially, all of the nobles seem to
support this although it will take them some time to influence the lesser
nobility (hence the -2 shrinking penalty). Unofficially, there are still
those who seek power and the region will be volatile for some time and the
local nobility may not be fully trustworthy. (Time will tell.) However,
out of this meeting, several issues are raised to the Archmage's attention:
1-If Niotrosa is Prince, is he also eligible to become ruler of Mir after
the current Archmage passes? If so, what is the order of succession for
Timar? Many of the nobility have tenuous claims on the throne which they
could pursue if the matter is not clearly adressed to their satisfaction.
(Also, will the area be renamed to reflect its status as a "new" place?)
2-Does this apply to the Floating City currently parked above the Oracle?
What about the refugees from the Wyr basin and Myr-Kun and the Black Seerers
(the converted Sinari who fought with Mir at Talishara)? Are these refugees
now residents of the land they are on and ruled by whoever is in charge
there, wards of Mir, forgien troops, etc.? Note-all of these factors as
well as the Mirrish association with the Eerith serve to destabilize the
local rulers.
3-Will any of this area be ceeded to Agrigax and/or the Dun-Ri in
recognition of their support in the war?
4-The Order of Lucia would like to assume responsibility for the security of
the Oracle and its priesthood. Since the two groups worked virtually
hand-in-glove during the war, they have already effectively merged and would
like this "officially" acknowldeged (the Preisthood of the Oracle and the
Order of Lucia would become one entity, much like the Knights Templar and
the Temple of Solomon during the Crusades)

Okay, Events 1434:
Eerith--Eerithian advisors to those societies who have requested and accepted them implement a supplemental calendar system based on the fixed date of the Second Advent (part of the Sinari religion)

The Hansari--Good news in the Tal basin for the first time in many years. Following the droughts and the ravages of the Sinari war, the Hansari (and surrounding area) are blessed with a bumper crop at harvest. Even though they are nomadic, the Hansari benefit greatly from the boon of the land.

Taltheran--Agrigax publishes his first public statements on the Sinari War: a book written on the strategies employed within the war.

Videssia--For a change, Videssia seems to have stabilized. It is a quiet year; the local bandit lords almost quiescent.

Zelkor--Perhaps as a result of the agrarian boom time, Zelkor has an exceptionally good year of trading along the coasts of the inland sea.
