
In the European equivalent, archaeology of sorts would still have been part of Philosophy, as would most sciences. Philosophers in the equivalent age would have speculated on the possible origin of ruins, and any easily viewed writings/engravings/monuments. I would like to point out that the whole concept of 'archeaology' is unlikely to exist on Qaiyore at this time.
