>From the Onagir point of view, there are two serious issues with dealing with Videssia. The first is simply the logistics of the issue. The Onagir are nomadic, spending roughly two of every three years so far south that they are out of touch with most of Qai. Combine this with the real lack of centrilized government amoung the Onagir and the mechanics of setting up such and alliance seem prohibitive. (This is even setting aside that the closest thing to an authroity structure within the Onagir, the Speaker and King of the Woods have been in a chaotic situation for a few years now.) The second matter is deeper. Videssians spent almost two decades engaged in the systematic genocide of the Onagir people. That's not a situation that lends itself to peaceful coexistence, let alone an alliance. Around 1410, it was a matter of debate of whether there even WERE any Onagir still alive. To say that the Onagir are xenophobic is an understatement. I like the idea of recovering Videssia as a playable region but I'm not sure how to handle this mountian of history. There's just no reason for the Onagir to trust any outsiders, especially Videssians (did I mention genocide?). It took the Amo-tall about five years to arrange a tentative trading agreement with the Onagir and these two societies are very similar. I'm not saying this can't be done or that it's a bad idea but there are some SERIOUS hurdles to overcome.
