Even the Mongols armies, reknowned foragers, traveled with herds of cattle or were supplied by the tribute of conquered nations. This actually might explain the way the demon army shattered during the last invasion. If that's the case, though, they probably learned from it. Which makes sense of the lesser numbers they seem to be using, but would still mean some sort of supply plan, though it may well be inadequate. Another thought is that without a supply chain the armies will die when they reach the northern deserts or the straight. (Of course, the demons may not realize that.)
