I had used demon bonding/bonded demon for lack of a better word, as i couldn't think of one at the time that captured the nature of the relationship created. Shadowspawn sounds more... ominous though : ) I would caution though how easy it would be to perceive a demonspawn/shadowspawn. One of the main elements of the bonding that distinguishes it from plain possession is the great effort put into disguising it. Additionally, shadowspawn are difficult to "create" (or rather, bond), and use up precious dark-sorcerous materials (ancient demon and goblin-deity blood for example). The combined intelligence of the bonded human (who is a magic user of some power to begin with) and bonded demon make them excellent leaders, and for a shadowspawn to be committed to the assault on King Opozoya would suggest something about the strategic significance of killing Opozoya and his bride to the Ice Demons. For a shadowspawn to be committed to leading the assault also suggests there are lesser and greater shadowspawn, perhaps even whole hierarchies of them in existence in Celandra. Lastly, it is known that Garr's body is in two halves, one interred in the far south, the other in the far north. What is known of the nature of the locations they are interred at? When the goblin deities were defeated and Gar split asunder, was he simply buried in the North and South, or interred in a guarded, warded location? I am leaning towards the idea that the southern location has perhaps been taken over by the Goblins, and are able to use Garr's remains there to strengthen their own sorcery (it would be a major source of ingredients for creating shadowspawn, for example). As for the northern location?
