The upper left quarter is green with a sword and shield crossed, representing Celtehar. The upper right quarter is blue with a single white tower, representing Tirmaeir. The lower right is green with a sailing ship, representing Celtelath. The lower left quarter is blue with the Old Timar golden sun, representing Saltrim. Seals are common amongst the Old and New Houses of New Kaeir. >Symbol: a stylised sigil of the letter K is a common symbol (adapted from a common sigil of the Green Lady), a more common symbol is a green band on documents, furnite, rooms or buildings. Amongst Kaeiraen sailors, it is common to paint a pair of green eyes on their ships as an omen of good fortune and to ward the evil eye. Heraldry is not as developed in Kaeir as in many other Midsea states, partly due to its association with monarchism. > > > Saltrim and Tirmaeir - both use variations on the Old Timar colours and symbols. Thus both the Dominion of Saltrim and the Dominion of Tirmaeir possess colours that combine the Kaeirean green and the Old Timar blue. I've also posted to the website the flags i did up for Kaeir a while ago but couldnt post to the website because of the various changes to the phoenyx setup. The main distinction is that in Kaeir, civil flags are longer horizontally, and military flags longer vertically (with the exception of the Fleet, which is horizontal). Old Timar: Colours: Blue. Seal: A blue shield with a white border, holding a golden sun wearing a crown. Symbol: A golden sun. The crowned golden sun was the symbol of the Old Timar royal house, though it is no longer used (some Kaeirean houses that can trace their ancestry back to the Old Timar court used to used the crowned sun, but in recent decades dropped the crowna as it wasn't exactly in harmony with Kaeiraen sensibilities.). >Shanari: >Colors: Green. >Seal: Heraldry does not really exist in Shanari society. Instead of seals, ornate calligraphy is used to sign official documents. A document signed by the Talis of the Commonwealth would be recognisable as official and legitimate by the ornate signature. Every literate Shanari would also have their own calligraphic signatures which are very difficult to forge (and almost as difficult to read, so ornate they are). >Symbol: An open white book on a green background.
