In the most recent section of _A Sudden Death in Thalsedon_, I mentioned 
/ardsul/ smuggling. /Ardsul/ is a drug made from the pollen and sap of 
the black sulflower, found in Bel'Adne and Milakanur. There are two 
other varieties of sulflower, blue and yellow. Yellow sulflowers are 
relatively harmless, although its pollen can cause severe hay fever. 
Blue sulflower pollen is used medicinally as a sedative anesthetic.

/Ardsul/ is Avaerean, meaning "blessed void". The drug induces a 
euphoric, energized, almost manic state and lowers inhibitions for one 
to four hours depending on dosage, after which the user crashes and 
falls into a deep slumber for about the same period of time. When the 
user wakes, he or she cannot clearly recall the actions he or she took 
while under the drug's influence.

Prolonged use of /ardsul/ can cause random blackouts, retrograde *and* 
anterograde amnesia, and dementia.

For all the above reasons, /ardsul/ is highly illegal in most MidSea lands.
