Before recently I only played RPGs online.... Online is easier because you can type out long descriptions and your characters really get into the game... but recently I've been playing offline and having troubles. I'm partially deaf and it's caused me to have a speech impediment so I like to sign (my girlfriend is fully deaf, so I sign a lot with her). Well, my person I roleplay with offline can't sign more than the alphabet and so I have to speak.... I've found my descriptions have went from detailed to very short. Also, I don't roll dice very often.... Usually I just roll them to make the player think I'm doing something with them and then just make up a response....
So far my roleplaying partner is blown away by RPing (he's not very creative, so blowing him away is easy) but I'm sure that he won't stay that way with my offline GMing skills.... Any ideas as to how I can improve my skills?
