I always seem to jump in the conversations after
they've progressed. Anyways, I'm wondering why there
even has to be a need for the comment section in FF
articles. I mean, it's a free fanzine, so why turn it
into a potential arena?
I'd just hate to see articles with attached criticism
and comments such as "Change this, do this, this
stinks, get a clue, etc.". The discussion could become
the centerpiece, not the actual article. If someone
really has some comments, perhaps he/she could e-mail
the author (or perhaps discuss it on the Fudge list)
and if the author thought it was important the author
could update the article.
Also, I think the comment feature might discourage
authors from submitting work. I mean, this isn't
Dragon magazine (but FF is certainly better), so does
there need to be a 12 person panel to give articles
the nod? Why would I want to submit an article if I
knew that others would just want to demolish it. Not
that this would probably happen, but why encourage it?
Perhaps I'm overreacting, but I would certainly like
to see FF continue, and not deteriorate into a Fudge
bash.
As a side note- will there be a "printable" version of
the FF?
