gmast V1 #64

Actually I am having each player find a treasure that is link to one armor
though they won't at first know that the treasure is of a magical nature
even if they were to cast detect magic as the magic would be dormant until
they find the key to activate the treasure and summon the armor. Maybe a bit
of my world's history would help in better understand what I am trying to
get.

Basically for one thousand years the world has been under the protection of
very powerful Battle Mages known as the the Li'Brign Clan. Over this time
they developed many magical items to aide them in this. Their primary duty
was to keep a the Horde of the Lord of Darkness at bay. They also acted as
the law enforcers of the lands though they left judgement of guilt to the
Moderators (Priests to Doveron God of War, Justice, and Honor).

At one point during this time a prophecy emerged fore telling of an Age of
Darkness in which the "Children of Light would be no more." To prepare in
case this came to pass the Lord Li'Brign of the time ordered that many of
the Clan's items of power be hidden across the lands so that the people
would at least have some hope if Darkness reigned. So several mystical
armors (the ones that i wish to introduce) and other powerful items were
hidden.

Also a with the aide of all the Mages, Priests, and the combined will of all
those with any trace of magic within them, the Li'Brigns created their
ultimate weapon using two metals of unique properties. One metal had the
ability to totally nullify any and all forms of magic unless it was in such
a large quantity as to permeate it. The other had the ability to amplify any
magical force directed through it. As this weapon held so much combined
power it had to be broken into three parts that would be known as the Armor,
Sword, and Shield. This was also hidden as it was too powerful for even the
Li'Brigns to rest easily.

More centuries passed and many forgot the prophecy. During all this time the
Horde grew in power and numbers until they were able break the wards that
kept them from the lands protected by the Clan. During the war that followed
the Li'Brigns were killed as they fought to push back the Horde until only
two remained alive. The younger one went into hiding as the elder cast a
spell that drew all the spirits of all the Li'Brigns that had died and used
them to create a new ward that stopped the Horde. Though this ward would not
last for very long for as it held it drew power from the land leaving a
dessert of death that slowly spread the longer it remained. The casting of
this ward killed the Li'Brign mage in the process.

Basically the first adventure starts several years after the creation of the
Death Wall (the above mentioned ward), and the armors i wish to introduce
would act as keys to finding the last living Li'Brign and the Armor, Sword,
and Shield.

Though a bit wordy I hope this explains where i am coming from the armors i
wish to introduce would play a major part in the plot of my adventures as
the PCs have to figure out what they have and then how to use it in time to
save their world. And not even know that they must save their world as they
go along, only that they are trying to figure out the answers to all the
riddles i am giving them. And hope that they do not get hit with my little
monkey wrench of fate at its highest level.

Sorry about the length of this post I have a really hard time stopping once
i get going.
