This is an idea I've had knocking around the back of my head for ages. It's based on the idea that instead of submitting short game turns, players instead write complete stories or episodes. I'm thinking of the quality of some of the character back-stories I've had with new character submissions in on-line games. My initial thoughts on how such a game might be structured: * An on-line encyclopedia of all people, locations and events of the game world is maintained on the web by the GM. * The players submit complete stories or episodes, including resolution of all actions, and submits it to the GM(s). Players may send rough outlines and/or discuss details with the GM prior to completing the story. * The GM(s) can either accept the story as it is, or suggest modifications, or even reject it outright if it's out of keeping with the setting, violates continuity, or is just plain bad. * Once accepted, the story becomes part of the continuity of the world: any people, places and events in the story should be entered onto the encyclopedia, and can be used by other players in _their_ stories. Someone suggested running something along these lines in RPGAMES a few years back, but nothing ever came of it. Has anyone here tried such a thing? -- | Tim Hall, http://www.kalyr.com | ICQ: 74213108 ---------------------------------------------------------------- GMAST Home Page: http://www.phoenyx.net/gmast/
