>'lo, out there. And a Haloo back. :) >How useful would it be to convert the speedfactors from AD&D on the D&D >3E system? I don't know, how useful would it be? Do you feel you need it? I have only a nodding familiarity with the new 3e, and it's been a long time since I've played 2e (and even then, we didn't use the speed factors), so I could be wrong about the impact, but I would think you could add the speed factors relatively easily if you really wanted them. Combat is an abstraction. With them isn't really all that greater in realism than without, but it does impinge upon some people's suspension of disbelief, and that's an important issue. If it messes with what *you* think is the way it should be, than fix it. From what I understand, speed factors were removed to slim down the combat system and make it work quicker (along with only one init roll). If that bugs you, go ahead and fix it.
