Was roughing out the history for a previously-unmapped (by me, it's quite well-known to the inhabitants of the world) section of a gameworld, and had a thought. What I'm looking for is the result of a nigh-continuous period of petty wars, a la various periods in European history - I want lands that have been traded back and forth several times, feuds that date back generations, a webwork of political marriages in royal lines, et cetera. It came to me, from dim in the recesses of my wargaming past, that there ought to be a game (or many games) out there that simulates that sort of long-term, wide-scale warring, and that if I can only find it, and perhaps even play it as a campaign-starter, it would save wear and tear on my aging imagination. Thoughts? Suggestions? And on a more general note, does anyone play other games within (not necessarily in-character, but incorporated into the mechanics) their games? I know of one group that uses Button Men for combat, but as they don't have any other RPG system, am not sure that counts. ---------------------------------------------------------------- GAMERS Home Page: http://www.phoenyx.net/gamers/
