When I say Java, I really mean Java*... It may be that MT uses Javascript, I 
don't remember specifically.  It's all eeeeevil, for reasons specified elsewhere.

I'm just going by their prerequisites page, I don't know exactly where it's 
used.  I assume when they say it's required that that means it's vital; YaBB 
"uses" Javascript but works fine (so far) when you gut the scripts, you just 
lose things like all the auto-HTML crap that I'm removing anyway.

MT *may* be the same way, but I don't have time to dink with it to find out 
when a Java*-less alternative presents itself (such is not, sadly, the case with 
bulletin board software, at least not until I get done with it).
