Ryzar doesn't manage to locate the creature before Jaldaric is upon
him; he fends off Jal's first poorly-aimed blow.  He tries to disarm
his 'friend', but with no more success.  The two remain locked in
combat.

"W...what's happening", Kylar says.  He makes no obvious attempt
either to recover his sword, or to get back on his feet.

Reylorna finds the remnants of the creature's mind shield more
resilient than she had expected; she's now beginning to tire
seriously; she's not got much of reserve of strength left now.
