Ryzar's first aid has some effect, although he's more bruised than bleeding. "Gone", he moans, "s'gone.... I'hurts", he says to Ryzar. His face is blank and expressionless; he's as badly wounded in mind as he is in body. The second man out on the battlements is in an even much worse state, having taken a couple of flame-dart hits from Ryzar's dart-gun. He's unconscious and hardly breathing. "What happened to him", Verthes asks Kylar "He was shooting at us", Kylar replies, "We returned fire". "But he was innocent!", Verthes protests, "Controlled... Like me.... and Jorg..." His voice trails off.
