"This is as far as I go", he says. Yorleck has accompanied the party as a guide at Jathren's recommendation. Aged in his late forties, with greying hair and beard, he claims to know all the trails and locations surrounding the village, and has contacts within the scattered tribes of vordral in the area. 'Many are suspicious of outsiders, especially kandar', Yorleck said on more than one occasion, 'My presence means they won't attack' Yorleck has led them to the end of the line of towers, about twenty of which have been visible on the horizon for some time now. "The place beyond the towers is haunted", he says, pointing to the final tower on the hillside. "Ancient kandar sorcery, same as that which built them. I go no further". Duplar notices that the tops of all the towers are level, although the heights vary with the rough terrain. They're also equally spaced when one assumes that every longer gap represents a long-fallen tower. An imaginary line linking the tops of all the towers would hit the hillside just beyond the final tower. -- Tim Hall, http://www.kalyr.com "It's a fine line between stupid and clever" - Spinal Tap
