As much as the equipment is interesting to her, she is more interested in watching the vortex. How it comes into being, what it looks like, all the aspects of it. The chance to actually see an actual mirror in operation is too exciting to just ignore. She would like to shut it down for their own safety. But there is no guarantee that they could get it running again afterwards. So this may very well be the one opportunity in her life. She had read and reread the old texts so many times, that this is almost like a myth becoming reality right before her. For the moment she remains silent in awe. "We're running out of time, Mechanist," Dharak addresses Duplar, "Reylorna couldn't get anything more; unless you really think you can do >better within the next ten seconds or so, then just push the button, Frank". His face is impassive. He offers no explanation as to why he just called Duplar "Frank". The vortex seems to coalesce into what looks like a tunnel; it's like looking down the whirlpool you get when you pull the plug out of a basin. Everyone feels some sort of humming inside their heads. -- Tim Hall, http://www.kalyr.com Read my blog! http://www.kalyr.com/weblog
