(Dopey me, while I was writing this I was looking at the groups file directly, and had it locked up. I should just use the web tools like everyone else does.) ---------- Forwarded message ---------- Date: Sat, 6 May 2000 16:10:18 -0500 (CDT) From: Karen J. You make the list tag part of the subject tag. I didn't want to force anyone into anything, so I let the subtopic tags be completely unrelated to the main tag if you want them to be. Lynn's list, for instance, really looks like three (or four, or whatever you're up to now) different lists, because only the main list says 7thorder on it. Here on listowners, I have things kind of mixed: LO: is the main list LO: README! is the announcement list LO: [Web] is the web editing stuff (which is never used anymore, and I should kill it But the "unofficial" subtopics are just Chat> chat stuff Req> new game requests That way, you can sort on LO: if you want all the official stuff in one folder. This sort of gets addressed in the help file at http://www.phoenyx.net/help/mod_topics.html The "Topic Tag" column is the subject tag (as seen in the main group configurator). Unless it's left blank, it will override the default group tag. You may want to make it repeat the default group tag - e.g. if "[GR]" is the default, the example subtopic could be "[GR] Ex>". In the above table, the subject tag will be only "Ex>". That might need reworded for clarity. -- -------------------------------------------------------------- Listowner tools are found at http://www.phoenyx.net/listowners
