I took firebird down at 1:05 (CDT) to install more memory and a tape drive... the box was down for 20 minutes, but I had a bit of trouble with the new kernel I'd compiled to recognize the tape drive. (The tape driver turns out to not be available as a dynamically-loadable module, so I had to compile a new kernel.) I got that fixed after about three reboots and all is well. We were back up and running properly about 2:30. We're now running on 192M of RAM (thanks, David Smith, for the 128M SD-RAM stick!). We were starting to feel a bit tight on 64M with the database and all. I've also got the tape drive working already and am making a full system dump as we speak. Now I can quit doing selective backups to burn to CD, forgetting to burn them, and generally living on the edge of catastrophic dataloss. And while I'm here, I'd like to thank all of you for helping to make the Phoenyx *the* place to find great roleplaying games. We couldn't do it without you. -- -------------------------------------------------------------- Listowner tools are found at http://www.phoenyx.net/listowners
