I've prettied up the editors web pages by merging them into the template system. (http://www.phoenyx.net/listowners/editors.html) I'm still working on the "how to evaluate a game proposal" thing. An incomplete draft is linked off the sidebar of the editors page. Take a look at what's there and see if it makes sense. Martin... are you back with us? The Fantasy category has been busy as usual. I set up a new game and then had them back out on us because our site was "too hard to navigate". There was some real paradigm clash on what they expected from what we expected them to expect. I took some notes and will want to evaluate that situation. (But despite all the "trouble," all of his players managed to sign up to the list in the first two days.) I'm thinking that, considering the slowness of the other categories, I'm going to use the Fantasy category as a "training ground". If you guys don't mind, I'd like to get all of you to evaluate the Fantasy category for awhile. I'm open for ideas of how to manage that. (I don't think I want everyone trying to do it at once.) But there's one there right now that needs looking at. The first live chat we had on improving the Phoenyx was about creating a "start here" web page... something newcomers would see right away and be able to visit to learn just what we do here. One of the problems I see with other sites like Rondack's Portal and others is, even *knowing* all about online roleplaying, it's not entirely obvious *what* these sites are providing. I don't want the Phoenyx to have that problem. I'm supposed to be writing the draft, but I haven't gotten to it yet. I encourage you to participate in these chats. I'm going to be putting together a web page to cover what we're doing and put the chat logs up once I've cleaned them up a bit. If we can make it obvious that members are participating in improving the Phoenyx, I think we can get even more people involved. One of our future topics is going to be how do we get the non-gamemaster involved in helping? The GM's already have jobs... we shouldn't have to tap them for all of our volunteer work.
