Okay, so I've been dinking around with the idea of phasing out the navbar altogether. For MMPBEM games, it's a moot point, since all pages will live on the Phoenyx anyway, and will have whatever navigation we put in the Wiki. So I ran my handy-dandy log analyzer, and came up with the following statistics for last month's navbar clicks: sitehome 173 web_read 59 join_group 39 grouphome 11 settings 9 related_groups 8 email 7 unknown 4 help 2 ...Which is kind of interesting; people are apparently seeing the Phoenyx name and clicking through out of curiosity. ... Which means they now realize your game runs on a roleplaying server, and not just J. Random Mailing List Provider. A lot of Phoenyx users *still* don't seem to realize that (note to self: must put out another newsletter). On the other hand, the navbar was displayed 13,745 times to get those numbers. That's a lot of overhead (since it's still not a mod_perl script). What are the thoughts on the navbar? Would everyone prefer to have a "settings" page that expands on all the navbar functions, and just "do your own thing" when it comes to expressing your affiliation with the Phoenyx? -- -------------------------------------------------------------- Game(s): The Whole Phoenyx Listowner tools are found at http://www.phoenyx.net/listowners/
