FWIW, this came from our upstream provider. The bit about email being held and forwarded is wrong (we run our own mail server(s), which will be on the wrong side of the outage), but the window should be shorter than most places' retry times, so it still shouldn't matter. We're on Central Time, so that'll be 0601 GMT. -- Karen J. Cravens silver@phoenyx.net ---------- Forwarded message ---------- Date: Thu, 4 Nov 2004 16:00:00 -0600 (CST) From: support@hubris.net Subject: Network Outage Monday November 8th 12:01am This is a notification from the Network Engineering department at Hubris Communications. You are being sent this message because you are listed as an administrative or technical contact for a business class Internet or web hosting customer. If your email is handled by Hubris Communications, you may have also received a similar notice that was sent to all Hubris email accounts. Early Monday morning (Sunday night) November 8, at around midnight, there will be a major network maintenance outage. The purpose of this outage is to modify the configuration and update the software on our core networking equipment. As a result, during this maintenance window, all network connectivity and services will be interrupted for a short time. This means that you will not be able to access anything on the Internet, nor will you be able to access web pages or email hosted on our system during this outage. If someone sends you email during this time, the message will be stored and then delivered to your mailbox after the outage is over. We expect that the maintenance window will begin at midnight and last no more than one hour. Most services will be offline for shorter periods of time than that, but could go up and down several times during the entire window. If you have any questions regarding this outage, please send email to support@hubris.net.
