Although it's April 1, having web forums on the Phoenyx is no joke. April 1, 1998 was the official launch date for Wirebird/Firehawk, the software that's kept the Phoenyx running for the last eight (of twenty!) years, and April 1 has also been the date for other milestones like domain name changes (we were once "phoenyx.wichita.ks.us," setting a record for Most Easily Misspelled Domain Name that may stand to this day). At any rate, the forums are still a little incomplete. Part of this is intentional... we aren't going to interrupt service for any existing lists - and yes, the forums *are* the lists. If you mail a message to the GAMERS mailing list, it'll show up on the web forum. If you post a reply on the web forum, it'll go out to the mailing list, too. It's the best of both worlds (and NNTP too, soon). You can watch this forum for announcements, but if you'd like to help build the software (or just offer advice/feedback), go here: http://www.wirebird.com/gamehawk/ If you're interested in the sociopolitical ramifications of the software in the community, you're probably a Phoenyx Stakeholder: http://www.phoenyx.net/stakeholders/ More news, as it develops.
