We haven't even finished converting things to the new server, and it's
already "the old server."
We've acquired a dedicated server ("garuda," to keep up the mythical-bird
theme), which should alleviate the bandwidth issues that are coming up now
that we're not just a mailing-list server anymore.
Also, this will put the Phoenyx in an area that is (hopefully) less
susceptible to power outages and the like. We've been lucky so far (and
are not, incidentally, affected by any of the flooding around Coffeyville,
nor is the Wichita River anywhere near Wichita), but we don't have power
backup beyond an aging UPS, and we'd rather not have to worry about it.
We'll make further announcements about scheduled outages (if any) when
we're closer to the switchover.
