oog - Just thinking out loud here. You were talking earlier about dumping
the H2O to improve speed. Is that really going to make much of a difference
given that you're essentially flying an oversized four story shoebox with
engines and contra-grav? The drop in mass will improve your accelleration
but it might make you considerably more controlable in high winds. I
realize that this is really more of a question for Eris.

Plus, did you pay for this water or do the people of Segui give out water /
fuel gratus?

After he gets an idea who will be on the ship when they are ready to
boost,
Shawn will call Jac.

"We have some space up here on the bridge. Why don't you bring Bettik up
and
the two of you can strap in here? I know he will like that and you won't
be in
the way. Will his mother be here by the time we are ready to lift?"

Shawn will rig the astrogator's console to repeat the pilot's console
and lock
out the controls for Bettik.

I was just going from what Eris said through Kelly.

We paid for it but Shawn is more concerned with saving lives and we will
be in an area to get more water before we return to the port for free, I
think.

AHA!! There we go, it was Eris's idea, he must want us to dump the water so
he can double charge us and weedle down our fortunes... That sneaky little
soandso... I'M ON TO YOU MISTER!!!

I was just wondering if it would make all that much of a difference in the
long run. Given that there's really nothing we can do to stop fifteen
trillion cubic meters of water, or whatever the heck we have to contend with
here, from doing whatever the heck it wants to.

OOC: No comment.

OOC: More like 20 million cubic meters of excess water..or enough to
flood up to a couple meters deep on both sides of the river out to
between 100 and 200 meters. As flat as the land downstream is, there
won't be a lot of speed to the current by the time it gets to Mutha,
but it will spread out over a wide area. Frankly, it'll probably be
good for the ranchers and farmers, in the long run, especially if this
storm means the dought is broken, but in the short run it's going to
be a pill.

Loaded with water the ship will handle sluggishly, but with the extra
mass, it *will* be even more of a flying brick than it normally is.
Dumping the water probably won't help or hurt much, nor will keeping
it aboard.

Nope, you've paid for this water. Not much, I'll grant you, but you'll
be dumping several hundred credits if you dump the water.
