The building is old and the stairs are wooden and steep. Ilane
bounds up them enjoying the exercise, past the second and onto
the landing of the third floor.

As she steps out into the hall she comes face to face with a
woman stepping from the grav lift.

April steps into the grav lift and hits number 3. As the lift
rises quickly, she rehearses in him mind what she is going to say
to the lawyers...how she had been called away on a family
emergency and had only just arrived to accept her inheritance.
She had papers to prove it. Smiling to herself, she knew she had
the clout to back it up too.

When the doors to the lift open she steps briskly out and right
into another woman's path. It's the woman that was going up the
stairs...she must have *run* up the stairs to have gotten here
this quickly.

Both of women are standing in the hall outside a frosted glass
door with the inscription "Brand & Gigo, Esquire" painted on it
in gold leaf.

When Ilane realizes that she's going for the same door as the same time as the
person from the lift, she decides to politely defer to the shorter woman. She
steps back a step to let her pass, smiles and says in a calm and friendly
tone, "Oh, excuse me! Please...after you..."

The woman who just spoke is 6'0", with a lithe, slim dancer's build, light
olive skin, european-looking facial features, and brownish-black curly hair,
cut short. Although her attractive, youthful features and excellent physical
condition would imply that she's in her late twenties, the slightly older
appearance of her hands reveals that she's actually in her mid-thirties.

She wearing a classy-looking navy-blue business suit, matching stockings and
low-heeled dress shoes.

April who stands 4" shorter, lifts her head slightly to meet the other woman's
gaze and gives her a charming smile and replies in a melodic soprano. She is
dressed in a chestnut brown buiness suit dress, knee length, with matching
tailored jacket, a cream colored blouse, beige stockings and brown 1" heels.
Her red hair styled in a bun tucked neatly into a lace snood.

"No that's alright, you can go first, I'm in no hurry."

April takes stock of the black haired woman as they enter the office. As she
enter behind the womean she discreetly looks the place over.

You both enter an outer office. A young man is leaning over looking at a terminal and talking to an older woman who is seated behind the terminal obviously entering, or at least displaying, data.

"The judge was insistant that Sianna Brand take the case, Hazel." the young man is saying.

The older woman replies through pursed lips, "She's not going to like it Oscar. You know she hates to procecute, and..."

The pair look up realizing that you have entered. The woman smiles and asks, "Yes? How can Brand & Gigo help you this morning?"

Behind the two at the terminal you can see two doors one each of the left and one on the back wall of the room. There is a corridor leading deeper into the chambers on the right rear of the room.

Ilane looks very pleasantly surpised, and shakes April's hand with a friendly

"That is perfectly all right, Sianna Rose." says the older

sure she will see you, even though you don't have an

I'm fairly certain of it. I was going to post a Ricardo sleeps then
does 'X' in the morning post, which I may get to later...today was

I think we can all understand how the aforementioned calamity could curtail
the desire to sink your teeth into the game for a few days. I hope the root
of your problems can be capped so your triumph over this adversity can be
your crowning moment.

Ricardo grins, "Of course, your friend might not be so helpful in the

Ricardo says "For our purposes, finding Rachel, that shouldn't matter.
For Aunt Mazie's purposes, well, that hornet's nest is going to be
stirred pretty soon anyway, I'll wager. Jac's appearance may even throw

Ricardo scratches his head, and after a moment says, "You know a heads
up to Mazie might be in order if we do this.

"She could certainly arrange for your friend to be suitably, er,
*reminded* that he'd best keep quiet, for the good of the Kingdom, and
all that, with a grateful thanks for his yoeman service in difficult
times...yadda yadda yadda.

"I've no doubt she or her staff could create in him the suitable
mixture of thrill at being mixed up in such mysterious doings and
abject terror that *he's* mixed up in these mysterious doings will help
keep his mouth shut."

Jac smiles and says, "I was thinking the same thing. In fact, I suspect
Auntie could arrange a paid vacation somewhere out of the way for this
Security Guard until such time as the affair was settled. She's very
good at presenting a nice gift and a suggestion, and having it be taken
as an order."

He says cynically, "She's done it to me *more* times than I care to
think about."

"Should I give her a call?" Jac asks Ricardo.

Ricardo chuckles..."Come now, we're not *that* much trouble, are we? "

Ricardo nods. "Yeah, I think so. Then you and Woof can pay the guard a
visit."

Jac nods, "Okay."

He stands and walks around the small desk to the chest of drawers in
this room and opens the second drawer. He reaches inside and removes
something from underneath the top drawer, then walks back to his desk
and snaps the device he retrieved over his comm's microphone. He taps a
sequence on the small number pad on the device.

Then he taps in a code on his comm and waits for it to ring, "I'm
calling her on her private line, and I think this qualifies as needing
to be a secure call."

"Aunt Mazie, this is JaCarter." he says, "Yes....yes. No...yes. Yes,
scrambled and encrypted as per your instructions."

Jac then explains the whole thing to his Aunt, "...and so we thought if
the request came from a member of the nobility and you provided him with
a vacation at some out of the...that's right, until we're away and you
have a...right."

"Where and when? Just a sec, I'll ask.." Jac says looking over at
Ricardo and Woof he says, "She'll help. She'll see that this fellow has
a nice holiday at a resort and she wants to know if we want her at the
meeting.

OOC: It is a little before 1500, the ball doesn't start until 2000, so
you have loads of time.

Ricardo shakes his head. "If you and Woof are convincing, I'd rather
keep her out of it. I think that a day or two between our visit and
her 'vacation offer' will likely reinforce the keeping quiet bit.

Jac nods and puts the phone back to his ear and talks to Lady Ryobi,
"All right then, it's arranged. Thank you and, I love you too."

Putting the comm down Jac says to the group, "Okay, Aunt Mazie will get
the details from Woof or I after we do the business, and arrange things
on this end from there."

"Woof, Ricardo? Where do we go from here?"

Ouch... The brother in law, 31, just had one of his wisdom teeth pulled and
a root canal all in one sitting...

He looked none to happy.

Owww. Having had a root canal, I feel his pain.

>"You?"

Before April gets a chance to answer the door to the offices
open and a young woman wearing a long black gown and a white
powdered wig and carrying leather portfolio and a stack of
file folders in her arms bustles in.

"Come help me Oscar!" she says with a touch of frustration
in her voice, "His Honor was in all his glory this morning."

As the young man comes forward to take the folders off of
her hands she continues, "Nobody except 'His Honor' would
dare call a court into order at seven in the morning just so
he could make some sort of golf date!"

"Torts for Breakfast! Gah! Throws everyone's day off..."
she is saying as she removes the wig and then notices April
and Ilane, "Oh, hello! Sorry! Just a second."

She tosses the wig to Oscar who catches it deftly as she
turns back to the waiting cousins, "Good morning."

She strides over confidently and holds out her hand, "I am
Jan Gigo."

Behind her the older woman is prompting her boss, "Sianna
Gigo this is Ilane Lanik, your nine o'clock appointment

"Sianna Lanik, it's a pleasure. I have informed Captain
O'Brien that you were arriving. The ship is on Sequi,
that's three light days from here, so he should be replying
in a day or two whether you should remain here or move on to
the /Mae Lee's/ next port of call."

"...and April Rose."

"April Rose?" Jan flashes a grin, "Ah, yes! The *other*
missing cousin. I had a 'heads up' from Lady Ryobi
yesterday that you were going to show up one of these days,
and here you are."

"Would you both like to go over the status of your legacy
together or separately?" Gigo asks, "We'll go back to my
offices where you can look over the papers and ask
questions. Although, it is pretty cut and dried, really."

She looks back and forth between the two women and asks
quizzically, "Together? Separately? Shall we?"

"Great!" Sianna Gigo smiles, "Then let's go."

She stops at the desk as she leads the two women toward the right hand corridor, "Oscar, pull the Cousins & Company file, as well as our hardcopy of the Akus Moby will and bring them back. Oh, and a cup of coffee for me, a *large* cup."

Jan glances back at April and Ilane, "Would either of you like a cup of coffee or a soft drink?"

After this interaction with Oscar, the trio head down the corridor to an office door. Jan Gigo puts her hand into the resessed area on its front and the door opens for her.

"Come in and have a seat." she says as she steps inside. As you walk inside you see a neat office. There is a desk with a terminal sitting beside it, and three chairs. One chair is behind the desk and the other two are arranged in front of it. One wall has bookshelves with a mixture of books and data cartridges. The other has a large window looking out on a gardened courtyard behind the building and beyond you see a covered walkway leading to the streets beyond.

Gigo moves over to a wooden rod with hooks on the top. She unzips her long black robe and hangs it on one of the hooks, then sits behind her desk, and waits for you to sit in the other two chairs.

"So!" she says looking back and forth between April and Ilane, "Do I take this visit to mean you both want to accept the terms of Si Moby's last Will and Testament assume your share in of his ship and estate?"
