GameBusiness: 2003/04/12

Everyone,

I don't believe I've sent out a GameBusiness post since Bob
and Hope Kondrk and JR Roberts joined the game. Bob is
playing Ilane Lanik, a missing cousin. Hope is playing
April Rose, a returning cousin. JR is playing Kelly Hoenja,
taking over an NPC. I still need to modify the webpages to
reflect the new players and characters, and hope to do that
this month.

Checking the archives on phoenyx shows that we generated 359
posts in March, or about 11.5 posts a day. That's pretty
good, and although the game seems to be moving slowly, it is
still moving ahead.

More News at bottom...

News:

In the game, the Mae Lee has jumped for Mark and should soon
arrive. Although, it has been months in real time, it has
only been a few days since Cory, Ukanav and Arvitis were
checking out that video the group found hidden aboard the
ship. They have never told the rest of the group what they
found out from their investigations. Perhaps they should.

Ilane and April are about to take a little boat trip out to
the asteroid.

Eris I need a refresh as I don't remember what info we got.

We already knew the location right?

I remember we took measurements and found where the camera must have been.
When we were doing it I know Cory was trying to figure out a time and
possible time of year the vid was shot by comparing the angle of shadows. I
don't remember if we got anything on that. If those calculations still needed
to be done then Cory would be working on those first chance he got when he
was rested enough not to doze off over the math.

If there was any other info I don't remember it.

Yes and no, you learned it was a cafe across the bay from
Ukanav who recognized it. I don't think you told everyone
about it though.

Earl, there is a date and timestamp on the tape. Doing the
calculations will just confirm or refute that timestamp.
Cory hasn't actually *done* the calculations yet...he's been
sort of busy, what with the hurricane and its aftermath.

That was about it, although didn't someone mention something
about Zeristu meeting techniques? Maybe seeing if the
"meet" at the cafe corresponded to any known technique used
to hold or spy on a meeting...

Earl will take your hint and have Cory do that once My refresh is done and
Cory finishes the Calculations.

I didn't know there was a date on the tape. If so then how does it match up to
the ship logs we recovered (I know they were damaged) and to Molby's death?

Does the date sig come with a sig saying what recorded it or if it's a copy?

Um not that I remember but I do remember asking something about, after looking
at the sight, if we could tell if any of the other people around the area in
the vid may have looked like they belonged ie body guards or watchers. Which
I guess is stretching in that direction I don't remember that answer
either.

Cory, sitting in the crew lounge, belly flips while he grasps the desk top
with white knuckles to keep his balance. He waits to see if he's going to
need to make a mad dash for the Doc before he continues with his endless
rewatching of the vid sure he's missing a clue that will give him the lead he
needs to follow up on why the tape was hidden..

It can't be matched exactly with the ship's logs, they were
too damaged for that, but what you have of the logs don't
rule out this scene having been taken when the ship was last
on Sequi. When you comparing Moby's death and the timestamp
shows it was about 150 days before Moby died.

 > Does the date sig come with a sig saying what recorded it

No to both. Nothing on who recorded it, nor on whether it is
an original or copy.

Maybe that was me and not you. You might want to run it
past Jacarter Woolbridge...or April Rose once you meet up
with her on Mark.

As to whether you can identify body guards or wathers, no,
you don't see anything obvious, but you're instincts tell
you this is a tape of a meeting of some kind.

Reminder: There are several different scenes on the tape.
You've been concentrating on the Sequi scene, because that
is where you were, but there are three other scenes, too,
and there *is* a location and time on them as well.

1. Sequi: 996.333
2. Osbeorht: 996.348
3. Serbia: 997.003
4. Leuet: 997.021

From the damaged logs, you also know that Akus abruptly
turned his ship around shortly thereafter, while on Gaston,
and headed straight back to Mark. Once he got there he gave
his crew a month vacation, hid the ship in the asteroid in
Mark's belt, sneaked back to Mark aboard the Random Walk,
disappeared for a while, then reappeared just in time to get
himself killed...probably by Pele "Pickaxe" Hiiki.

Woof was aboard during this cruise, and so was Pasco Carl.
You could question both, Woof now and Pasco when you get to
Mark.
