Woof approaches Shawn at some point.

"I was wondering, Shawn, was there a brokerage bonus or anything for getting
the drugs from the Docs and selling them to my pack? Isn't there supposed
to be some kind of percentage deal?"

Shawn nodded his head in agreement.

"You're absolutely right, Woof. You need to go see Ricardo and he will
take care of you. Make sure and squeeze the tightwad."

OOC: It's been so long I don't remember what the percentage was. Eris,
can you help us out on that?

OOC: Hum, are you sure you actually came up with a specific
percentage? Even if you did, I'm open to you "renegotiating"
it now...how many years ago was that original conversation?

Woof will then corner Ricardo at some point and ask the same question.

"I was wondering, Skipper, was there a brokerage bonus or
anything for getting the drugs from the Docs and
selling them to my pack? Isn't there supposed to be
some kind of percentage deal? Shawn said I needed to speak to you."

OOC: Closer to three, I think.

Ricardo looks at Woof with a serious expression on his face.

"What, young man, you don't read contracts when you sign them? "

He can't hold the seriousness long, though.

He laughs "Yeah, we set something in the standard crew contract, I'd
have to look it up though. You get a few percent of the profit, I seem
to recall." He adds "You know, getting your pack's herd into that study
could be considered quite a commission, you know!"

"Lets go into the office and look it up."

He heads into the ships office, and does so.

OOC> Hah, probably three, since that was the time of the Great Crew
Contract Discussion.

IIRC, we left it at a 'standard' commission. whatever that is; I think
we were figuring 5% or so...

Woof follows his leader into the office.

"Well, what you said about the pack is quite a deal...but getting the doc
easy access to a pack that would use the stuff for a trial was part of the
deal of even *getting* the rest of them to sell."

"Ok, ok" Ricardo looks up the contract on the terminal, says "the
standard terms are that you get X% of the profit as a commission when
bringing any cargo profits to the enterprise, so long as your job
description does not include Cargo brokerage. You're the purser, so it
applies to you. You'll get the commission when we get the creds in the
bank."

(Which business bit Ricardo has not checked on, actually. While in the
ofice he looks up what our current financial status is. We should have
gotten paid on Sequi in cash or was it via bank transfer?)

OOC> The X% will have to be determined when we find that information, or
Eris makes a ruling.

OOC: I don't have a problem with the 5% "finders fee" that
was mentioned, if that's what you want to do. That would
work out to 28,000 marks to Woof...but, you need to tell me
so I can transfer it from your account to his.

Here is what Ricardo sees on the computer screen concerning
finances...

  -------------------------------------------
(All funds listed in Mark Marks)

--------------------------------------

Because you were still "in system", more or less, you were
paid by bank transfer to the Royal Mechantile on Mark.
Typically, you'll get your pay in a bank draft, or local
currency. You'll want to convert it to a widely used form of
currency...like CSA Credits, Mark Marks, Montrose Pounds, or
even Zeristu Francs, or deposit the draft into one of your
banks.

You'll notice, I'm sure, that you didn't fill up your cargo
bays, but that's not going to hurt you too much.

You are going to have some expenses once you are to Mark,
berthing, repairs, and salaries will be due as well.

Wasn't someone keeping a spreadsheet of this? Or supposed to be? Or was
that me? :-o

I can set up a quick DB script to put it online...
