After finding out that not much as happened in the past 3 or so weeks, Woof escorts Mira to Mamma Kent's place, trailing along behind the rest of the part that probably has already arrived there.

Mamma Kent is summoned from the kitchens. As she approaches, Ilane gets 
her first look at her. She is a large woman with a round face and cheery 
eyes. Her brown hair, streaked with white, is pulled back into a bun. 
She walks briskly, wiping her hands on a towel as she approaches.

She steps over to the counter and checks, "Yes, Room 24 is free, and 
yes, that was Akus' usual room. It is one of our small rooms, a 
*single*, just a bedroom and a fresher."

Adding with a smile, "Your Grandfather always said any more than that 
and he would get spoiled."

"Is this another one of Akus' kin?" she asks Shawn looking at Ilane.

Siann Kent nods, "Si Moby has stayed with us several times a year for 
the last 20 years. Only for a few days each time."

but I said, 'It's still nasty stuff that stinks up the sofa.'  He 
laughed and said no more about it, but he *did* do his smoking outdoors 
from then on."

"Oh, and he was partial to my zona pie. Always asked for it, and when he 
was staying here I always had a slice ready for him." she says and 
shakes her head, "I am going to miss him."

Shawn will make his way up and either drop her off at her room or to his,
depending on what she wants to do.

He opened his room and gave it a walk through. The time for a detailed
search would be later. For now, he just wanted to see the layout.

The layout of the Room 24 is very simple. There is fairly large room 
with a double bed, round table with two straight back chairs. There is 
also a small sofa, it looks like it might pull out to make a second bed, 
with an end table next  to it. A lamp on the end table and indirect 
lighting around the ceiling provide light. On one wall, where it can be 
viewed from either the bed, sofa, or table is a wall screen for an 
entertainment center. A data terminal with a smaller screen is next to 
the larger wall screen. The ceiling of the room appears to be acoustic 
tile hanging from true ceiling above it.

At the other end of the large room is an alcove with a fresher to the 
left, a small closet to the right and a curtained window that looks out 
onto the street in front of the Boarding House.  The closet is empty 
except for a rod and several lonely hangers. The fresher has a 
washbasin, toilet and both a sonic and water shower. A small mirrored 
medicine cabinet is above the washbasin.

He grinned. There were *so* many places something could be hidden that the
mind boggled. He felt a kinship with Akus that he had not expected. They
both had the eyes of a smuggler. He made a note to himself to get Arvitis wo
join them in the search. His densometer might turn up even *more* hiding
places.

He also made a note to himself to stop in to the ship at that time to get
some clothes and personal gear.

Ge sat on the couch and left the door open so he would see when Mira or
Ilane arrived back at the door.

The only things that look like they might work are the straight back 
chairs at the table. They seem sturdy enough to stand on, and when 
standing on one either of you would within easy reach of the ceiling tiles.

Shawn will help her stand and make sure the is steadied in a gentlemanly
fashion. If she is wearing a dress, he will keep his eyes elsewhere with the
occasional look at her calves.
