After a few seconds Lessa stiffens in Woof's arms and pushes him back, "I'm sorry. I can't afford to waste time crying." Looking Woof in the eyes she says, "I can't stay here. By tradition the church won't hide me for more than a day, and they count days from sun rise to sun rise. That means tomorrow morning Father Brian will call the police and tell them I am here. So, I need to go somewhere else, really soon, besides the longer I hide out here the further away they are going to get with Rachel." Lessa frowns and her eyes get a hard look as she begins to paces and talks to herself, "The sunlight was from directly overhead when they took Rachel aboard that ship, so I'm looking for a ship that was loading at noontime, one that probably lifted not much later, and we're looking for a couple with a 3 year old girl. That should narrow things down a lot." Suddenly she stops and looks at Woof, still frowning but with something flickering in her eyes. "Woof, I shouldn't involve you. I can't ask...but..." her eyes look pleadingly at him, "...but, they took Rachel off world and I need to go find her and you're the only one I know with a ship?" Eris AKU GM

I know these warrens like the back of my hand. It was a safe place for me then, that's why I came here now." She leads you through the passages and upstairs. OOC: Greg, I'm going to accelerate things a bit here. If you don't agree with the following we'll revise. Woof says, "To the Starport." The cab ride seems to take forever. Twice you feel Lessa tense beside you as the sound of sirens echoes over the almost empty freeways. Each time, though, the sirens fade away in the distance as the emergency vehicles race elsewhere. The cabbie pulls up outside the /Mae Lee/ leaving you and Lessa there. He has the code to the hatch, so he won't have to rouse the ship to get inside. As you opening the hatch to let Lessa inside you see headlights of an approaching ground vehicle, but you and she continue on inside, closing the hatch behind you. Lessa looks around and says, "Now what?" As you are thinking you hear tones coming from the hatch. It opens and you see Jac and Mira standing there. Eris AKU GM Eris AKU GM

You show your crew ID at the back gate through the cab's window to a sleepy gate guard and the cab is waved on through. It isn't unusual for a crewman to take a "friend" back to his ship with him, so he doesn't even ask for Lessa's ID, just as you knew he wouldn't. Eris AKU GM
