Hope, when April hears that Sheffield Burke is involved you 
remember part of a briefing that you had on him. Burke is 
suspected by CSA Naval Intellegence of having contacts with, 
perhaps being in the employ of, the Zeristu Empire. He is a 
broker and a big-wig in the Spacer's Guild who travels 
extensively. He's been into the Zeristu repeatedly, and the 
CSANI has lost track of him on several occasions when he 
could have been meeting with Zeristu Intellegence operatives.

CSANI has no proof, and he stayed out of CSA territory 
during the recent war with Zeristu so he wasn't arrested or 
even questioned. He seems to have moved his "base of 
operations" to Mark, and is concentrating his efforts here 
and on the systems coreward of here.

He is one of the people that you were asked to "keep an eye 
out for" by your former bosses.

Not that *you* know of, but it probably wouldn't surprise
you if she did.  She certainly knows that you were
"bodyguard" for the CSA Ambassador to Mark a while back and
were "asked to leave" by the Mark government after a Zeristu
agent tried to assassinate your boss and was killed by you
in the attempt.

Mark was "neutral" in the war between the CSA and the
Zeristu Empire, but most of the citizens, and unofficially
the government, sided with the CSA so the Ambassador was
asked to send you home help maintain Mark's neutrality. He
did, and you resigned rather than take a desk job...and that
is when you got the letter from Akus' lawyers about the
inheritance.
