997.273.1000: Morning Activities

Would everyone summarize their activities for the rest of the morning,
and into the afternoon, please?

Shawn and Ilane are going to look for cargos and...

Kelly is going to spend the rest of the day prepping the ship for its
next flight, right?

Ukanav is going to clean out the cargo bay or anything else
Ricardo/Shawn/Kelly order him to do.

Arvitis is going to analyze the tape to see if he can figure out which
systems the scenes were shot it.

But I need details for

Lysia...

April....

Cory....

Ricardo...

Mira...

Woof...

Thanks,

play in Lysia's scheme to help throw suspicions off. Once she has life

Getting the medical and life support supplies, as well as extra plants
for use around the ship is going to take Mira until sometime in the
middle of the afternoon. She'll carry the medical supplies back to the
ship with her, but the supplies for the life support modules and plants
will have to be delivered.

[PTP (Suz): Ilane brought a spare PLSM that she was planning to use at the
asteroid base. It's never been opened. :)]

We're we going to fake the departure of the tall red head from Mae Lee this
morning or not?

OOC: It'll be late afternoon before Mira can help you, but perhaps
someone else...Ricardo, April, Ukanav will be assigned or volenteer
before that. IAC, Kelly will get one of the two shifts he needs to prep
the ship for flight done by dinner time.

She smiles and nods. "Okay, thank you." She does just that.... First seeking
out Cory and Arvitis. "Ricardo suggested I ask if you need any help research
and such of the tapes. Can you use my assistance?"

I'm sorry if everyone gets this twice but I never received a reply to
this.

If Cory and Arvitis do not need any assistance then April will find her way
down to engineering and see if she can assist Kelly in anyway.

Arvitis thanks you, but says, "No, this is a one man and one computer job."

Cory and Kelly will have to speak for themselves, but you can find
either or both. Kelly's in Engineering. Cory you'll have to look for.
Pick which one you want to talk to first.

BTW, Kelly says that if you come looking for him he'll be cursing at
something behind an open access panel.

OOC: Assuming this is after the conversation with Lessa but before Cory leaves
the ship:

"Hmm. Well do you think you're better at forging a prospectus for a research
grant, breaking the code on these accounts, getting the info on the planets
we may go to to include at least the atmosphere information and sun temp and
spectrum on systems with in say, hmmm, 10 jumps, be a tail on Woof, well
actually tail Woof so we can see if any one he talks to runs to talk to
someone else, help Arvitis with the number crunching for the sensors and I'm
sure a comparison to the atmosphere on Sequi, look up hootish settlements?
Can you think of anything else Arvitis?" Cory takes a breath.

Cory nods and says "Well in that case your choices are more limited, so do
think you're better at forging a prospectus for a research grant, breaking
the code on these accounts, getting the info on the planets we may go to to
include at least the atmosphere information and sun temp and spectrum on

OOC: I see some more talk about landing gear. Eris I'm confused I thought we
couldn't see landing gear but if we can the below would be added:

trying to match up this landing gear."

April nods and smiles, "Well, if you need someone to run a con, play music or
sing, keep an eye on something or someone, break into a building, shoot to
kill, kick the shit out of someone, or take care of few other odds and ends, I

"Music what an excellent idea." Cory pops in a selection at random.

"I'm sorry but the con doesn't start till after we get the research prospectus
finished. The idea is to get a database from the news agencies for later
inclusion in some image recognition software."

"As to your violent tendencies, I'm not sure how those can be used right now.
I guess you could give Woof a spanking, but I think he's currently to
distracted to enjoy it, so that seems a bit of a waist. I on the other hand,
well that's beside the point."

"Do you sing while you do violence? because then I wouldn't mind accompanying
you on the Cello sometime."

"Hmmm see right here" Cory points to the screen showing the ship the little
girl was taken aboard froze at boarding. "Do you think that shadows enough to
place a time on it?"

"Since we don't have the position of the ship, there's going to be at least
two possibilities. Why don't you pull up satellite weather photos for
yesterday, maybe we'll be able to get rid of one of the times."

"Yes, he sure could use a spanking?" Cory adds as he begins calculations.

"Oh and angle of the sun for this time of year, though it's probably just as
easy to get it from nav."

"Did I say that out loud?" Cory asks. "I guess so. Because he's not going to
get anything to relieve his stress with his most recent of pretty faces near
a nervous breakdown. Not to mention, if he spends to long being a nice guy

OOC: Earl and Hope, I'm going to rule that you turned this over to
Arvitis it actually *do* while you two took care of "off ship"
activities. Earl, you had shopping/info gathering to do, and April you
were to tail Woof to make sure he wasn't tailed...if you know what I
mean....and Woof's tail is a pun that makes me chuckle. IAC, you'll
get the results of the analyses when you return.

And through the magic of your Referee being busy and not having a chance
to play all the above out, you've already returned from successful
missions, have received information about the boarding from Arvitis,
and are being summoned to do your next bit of dirty work by the Captain.

Ricardo finds him in the lounge and says..."Woof, when you ask your
contacts at the port about the Hootish and the ship, if you get a good
answer on a destination, call Shawn and tell him...this is going to
decide which route we go..."

Then Ricardo goes to corner Jac and pump him for info about the systems
coreward. He'll then spend the rest of the day on the computer, doing
the same research, and he'll contact the Argent Embassy, see if they
have any info he can get, as an Argent citizen, even if he is flying a
Mark registered ship...

OOC: Bruce, I'll post UWP's for coreward systems tonight
when I get home. I'll also have Jac answer specific
questions about the systems (some of his answers might be "I
don't know" or "rumor has it..."), but you'll have to let me
have more details about what information you want and about
which systems you want it on.

The Argent Embassy starts off being, unhelpful until you
mention your former position in the CSA Scouts, then you are
transferred to another office.

"Fisher Ross, CSA Scout Service, here. How can I help you?"

Ricardo knows Fisher Ross, but he has no idea if Ross will
remember him.

Ross was an instructor at the Scout Academy when Ricardo
went through it years and years ago. Ricardo liked Ross, and
he liked his course on New System Evaluation, too. Ricardo
would have thought Ross retired, or died, long ago, but it
seems he just got shuffled off to an Embassy post.

"Professor Ross? Wow! I really liked your 'New System' class back in
the Academy...Oh excuse my manners, my name's Ricardo O'Brien. I
retired from the Service last year. Amazing luck, I'm the skipper and
part owner of a merchie, now, looking to head coreward. I was hoping I
might wheedle some information out of the Embassy here about the
systems along the routes to Montrose...we have something to deliver
there.

I was wondering about Luet, Serbia, Newton, Wrothag and, of course
Montrose...basic survey stuff...what's the gov like, exports, imports,
the usual."

"Professor Ross?" the gruff voice replies surprised, "Hell, boy, I
haven't been called *that* in 10 years. Call me Fisher!"

"Who'd you say you were again? Ricardo O'Brien...um, I think I remember
you." he says, "Back in 80, 81 wasn't it? You said you retired, eh?
Gonna try the merchant life?"

"Well, Captain O'Brien, we don't have a whole lot of information on the
ships down the main, but I can get you some basic survey stuff on
planets in this neighborhood." he says, "How about you give me today to
get the information up and we get together tomorrow and go over the
data? How does 1000 tomorrow strike you?"

He signs off with a cheery, "Good Jump!"

Woof finds that he can contact two of his contacts at the
Starport. One is a woman who works in the control tower. He
goes there personally.

> Using his liaison skill, and ostensibly doing market
> research, he will attempt to get the names and classes of

He has to promise to take one woman to dinner the next time
he is in port, but he gets a disk with a list of the names
and classes of ships that have landed and lifted from Mark
during the past two months, including today. The disk has
the listed destinations and origins for each ship, but he
knows those aren't *always* accurate.

Woof also has a contact with Starport Security that he
*could* meet with. From him he might be able to get access
to recordings of boarding tapes from yesterday. That *might*
show the Hootish couple with the girl, and if it does it
might also show whoever was taking their pictures as they
boarded the ship. Getting access to those recordings is
going to be tricky, though. Liaison alone won't do it,
bribery *might*, but so might some sort of subterfuge.
You'll need to think on it, and probably get some help from
your crewmates if you want copies of those recordings.

> He will be taking care of Lessa.

Goes without saying! Keeping her from *doing* something
that might expose her is going to be the biggest part of
your problem with Lessa today.

OOC: If you want to do that you need to coordinate that with the
others. Cory seemed to be interested in being involved and doing
investigations into who took Rachel Kramer. Lysia may want to talk to
Cory. Mira said she would assist as well, if you want to have her

I've already said a few times, I was going to talk to Ollis, see if
there was stuff he'd lined up for us. (We did set up that deal where he
was gathering freight for us, right?)

I will coordinate with Shawn on this; if he wants to handle Ollis
that's fine too.

I'm going to check the port to see if any new news of the 'Satago' has
surfaced.

Then I'm going to talk to Jac in more detail about the worlds we're
heading off into, and do what research I can on them.

Also, at some point we need to see if the money from that archaelogical
find has come in or not. I cannot remember if we set it up so that our
lawyers are the contact or not.

April finds Kelly in Engineering on Deck Three. He has a maintenance
hatch off of one of the control cabinets, and he is halfway inside of
it. You hear some highly non-regulation comments as he struggles with
