997.273.Afternoon: Trade Summary

Shawn and Ilane finish dealing with Rosco Ollis. Shawn contacts other
brokers, and looks around and assembles the following freights needing
delivery to

Serbia:

  83 dtons Chemical Fertilizer** 99,600
  40 dtons paper 40,000
10 dtons drawn copper wire 10,000

Newton:
 100 dtons Tobacco Products* 100,000
  60 dtons electronics parts 60,000
  30 dtons frozen meat* 30,000
  15 dtons computers* 15,000

The best speculative cargo you were able to find on short notice was 20
dtons computer parts, available in 1 dton lots at a best price of
120,000 per dton. Serbia is a lower tech world than Mark and Mark is
known for computer systems, so you expect to be able to sell the
computers on Serbia at a profit.

The /Mae Lee/ can carry a *maximum* of 340 dtons of cargo, and you
should reserve about 20 dtons for passenger/crew luggage. You can't
carry all the available freight lots and the speculative cargo. You'll
have to be selective.

* Rosco's freight
** Rosco's freight carrying a bonus payment

Shawn spoke for all the stuff to Serbia. The tobacco products, electronics and computer parts to
Newton. That leaves 20 for the passengers and 12 for spec cargo.

What does the ship have available and what does Shawn have himself in cash? It's been so long I have
no idea what either have.

Shawn got together with Ilane and started researching all the possible to find out what he could
about them.

Shawn worked them both hard for the afternoon and into the early evening. When they had a stack of
paper and data crystals gathered and sorted, he pushed his chair back and ran his hands over his
eyes.

"I'm going blind, Ilane. It's time to show you the benefits of hard work."

He reached into his pocket and pulled out two stubs.

"I happen to have two tickets to the best dinner theater in the city for an hour from now. Will you
grace me with your presence?"

"Actually, it is closer to an hour and a half so we do have time for both of us to change."

Shawn gathered their gear and once they both were ready, took her back to the ship.

Later, he came out dressed for escorting a Lady to the theater. He is in a formal with a fine cut
that shows it is expensive by being so subdued and classic. He waited for her in the common area and
when she came out, he bowed before her and presented her with a single rose.

Shawn will fix them both whatever she desires. As a trained steward, he makes a mean mixed drink.

"What Milady want, Milady gets."

Shawn called and ordered two double portion filet mignon dinners to be laid aside for them.

When they arrive, Shawn escorted her into the theater as though she were the queen and he the

Shawn was a bit surprised at the quick kiss but enjoyed it.

"Since it is what you wanted, I *should* have and am happy to have done so. If you want something,
all you need to do is ask and I will make it happen. If you don't mind, I have a place that the

Concerning the ship, two things...

1. You still have 34 dtons of speculative cargo that you bought on
Sequi aboard the ship:

  a. Srogrok Wine (12,000 bottles), 14 tons, (60,000 marks)
  b. Rolled Tobacco is bales, 20 tons, (11,000 marks)

You'll need to sell all or some of it to clear the hold.

After negotiation with Rosco you best offers:

Tobacco 13,200 for the full 20 dtons
 Srogrok Wine 5,600 per dton

What, if anything, do you sell?

2. The ship's cash is as follows:

Royal Merchantile Bank of Mark 1,715,500 marks
  C&P Bank of Kurzu 53,875
Banco de Maria, Muan Gwi 87,381

Now, as for Shawn's Account...

Shawn has 4,100 in cash, and 165,000 in the Royal Mercantile Bank. He
also has 250,000 that he transfered to Jaren's Cash card to finance a
share in trading, but Jaren has disappeared in a misjump and Shawn
doesn't know if or when he'll ever see any of that money again. So, all
Shawn can count on right now is 169,100.

OOC: That was ship's spec or Shawn's?

Shawn will sell the wine and hold off on committing on the meat (30 dtons). He wants to do a little
research and see if the tobacco might bring more at the next stop since they are taking some tobacco
there.
