997.275-281: In Jump

The ship transitions into jump space smoothly, with only the weird 
twisting of your stomaches and brains when it happens. The feeling 
passes quickly for everyone, although, Arvitis again takes a bit longer 
than anyone else.  The insertion looks good and both Ricardo and Shawn 
are confident the ship will emerge in the Serbia system in seven days 
right on target.

The first morning in jump Mira begins the series of operations that she 
will perform on Lysia. The operation today takes 2 hours to remove the 
metal rod and replace it with carbon fiber matrix, it goes well. Then 
with her leg in a brace, Lysia is confined to the regen table for the 
next 4 hours while the bone is encouraged to regrow inside the fiber 
matrix. At the end of this six hours, Mira allows Lysia up, but keeps 
her leg in a metal brace to keep it straight and keep the load off of 
it. Lysia has another surgery the next day to remove the muscular 
adhesions, and another long regen treatment. After that, it is just 
regen treatments everyday for the next five days. By the end of the week 
Lysia almost pain free, for the first time in years, but her leg is 
still weak and she will need to continue the regen treatments combined 
with physical therepy to rebuild her muscle and bone strength. The pain 
should completely disappear as she continues the treatments and therepy.

OOC: I'm not going to do the "romantic dinner"..if one or more of you 
want to write it up/play it out feel free to do so. Otherwise, it 
happened, was a surprise to those not in the know, and everyone had a 
good time. 

OOC2: My mom is in the hospital, so might not be around much the rest of 
the weekend...or I might if they send her home, I don't know at the 
moment...anyway, feel free to talk among yourselves about your time in 
jump, what you did, studied, what you're planning to do when you arrive. 
The next major thing from me is going to be your arrival in the Serbian 
system.

Woof takes care of Lessa.  He makes no moves on her, as she is going 
through all kinds of crap, and needs a friend, not a lover.  At least that 
is his perception.  Again, with no pax aboard, he has her in a convenient 
room.  He even sets up shop next door, in case she needs him.

Shawn will help move Ilane's things and move his painting gear to her old room. During the week, he
will be surprised and very pleased with the surprise dinner and thank everyone deeply. He will also
spend time with Mira getting whipped at zero G grav ball and ask Ilane to teach him how to dance in
zero G. It might help his bad game. He will also complete the oil of Generalissimo Ricardo and hang
it in the dinning area with no warning the night before they emerge from jump.

Ilane asks Kelly if he could give her some on the job training in the hope of 
learning enough about engineering during this trip that she'll be able to pass 
her assistant engineer certification test by the time she gets back to Mark.  
She also helps out in any way she can on the repairs and makes herself as 
useful as possible to Kelly and April as she learns.

She spends most of her spare time either hanging out with April or spending 
sweet quality time with Shawn.

The ex-dancer too will find the dinner to be quite delightful and warmly thank

starts agitating that this be made the official dress uniform of the 
crew of the "Mae Lee".

He's going to start hitting surplus shops in the ports we visit and 
look for things like 'Good Conduct' , 'Perfect Attendance','Excellence 
in KP' medals and suchlike, the more ridiculous and useless the 
accomplishment, the better.

He'll aim to build a collection to rival the painting.

Ukanav is the only one who thinks this is a good idea, "Now *that* is

Lysia hops around on crutchs for a few days, she tries to pass as much time
as possible in the simulator and patching up / organizing and redecorating
her quarters.  She also ties to get in an hour each day in the gym just to
work on the leg and everything else.

Lysia tries to find as many things as she can for Lessa to help her out with
just to give her something to do so the time passes a little faster.
