Mira and Jac have been listening to the conversations while putting the body of Randolf Bridges in cold storage. They are going to have to decide on how to handle his body. Behind them, near the door, they hear a woman's voice go "Ohhh!" Turning Mira and Jac see Lessa standing at the door looking the table where the two small alien creatures have been sleeping. "What are they?" she asks stepping inside to get a closer look at them. As she steps near them one of the pair twitches once and then, still asleep, turns over and snuggles up to the other alien. "Ahhh!" says Lessa clasping her hands and lifting them up to her chest. Eris AKU GM

Only that their names are Snu and Kiki and they are now ship's company," Mira says, suddenly grateful the woman has something to take her mind off her daughter. "Jac? Think you could go get some milk and some fresh meat from the galley? And bring a knife in case I need to cut up the meat," Mira instructs, knowing she could always use a scalpel, but why muddy the waters. Mira

The orange tabby is the male and the brown calico is the female. As Mira is finishing exploring the female, it reaches out with it's forelegs and grasps the Doctor's arm. The claws in those three fingers are sharp and penetrate the sleeve of her longsleeved shirt and cause a sharp pain in her arm. It doesn't appear the animal is attacking, so much as it appears to be playing in its sleep. It makes a chuckling grunt while continuing to purr. Eris AKU

The creature let's Mira's arm go and then stretches and opens it's mouth wide in another yawn. Then Mira sees both animals ears twitching back and forth and both of their eyes open. Seeing and perhaps smelling that she isn't who they are familiar with they draw back from her against the corner of the table they are on, huddling against each other. They don't look angry, hair not fluffed out, ears not back and teeth not bared, but they do look cautious and a little frightened. Mira gets the impression that these animals are quite familiar with humans, but not *these* particular humans. Eris AKU GM

The orange tabby's ears flick forward and he raises his nose slightly to sniff the back of Mira's hand. The brown calico moves slightly in response to her companion and cocks her head looking up at Mira. Behind her the door hisses open as Jac reenters with a cheery, "Not knowing what they eat, I brought some meat and some greens." The two animals pull back at the sound of the door and Jac's voice. Then both dart off the table launching themselves in a glide for the top of the medicene cabinet where they voice a mixtures of chitters and hisses with their tails curled up under them. Eris AKU GM

The two animals watch Mira closely, but first one and then the other sniffs at the meat in Mira's hand, but only when she puts the meat down on top of the cabinet do they inch forward and nibble at the chicken. The orange tabby picks the pieces of chicken up with it's hand. It is a strange action as it has two opposable thumbs and two fingers between them. Once he has the pieces he hands some of them to his mate and the pair munch on it, while never taking their eyes off of Mira. Eris AKU

Mira finds small cups and fills them with water and puts them up on the cabinet where the two creatures are nibbling on the chicken pieces. They seem to be ignoring the leafy vegetables. Mira starts the query. It runs....you get hits for several creatures, but none that completely match up. You don't think this species is in the ship's database. By the time Mira looks back, she sees the two creatures...you'll need to come up with something to call them...are finished eating and are holding the cups with their hands up to their mouths and lapping at the water. They empty the cups and put them down and then start looking around. The orange makes a twittering sound. The brown replies with a clicking sound that ends in a whistle. Both are looking around, and make a whistling call that ends on a rising note, like it is a question. Then then stop and their ears twitch forward like they are listening, then they make the whistling call again louder. "I think they are talking to us." Jac says. "Or calling for their owner." Lessa adds. Eris AKU GM
