OOC: I need to know how your working the arrivals. I assume one ship 
comes in on one vector with it's transponder on, and the other ship 
comes in a bit later on a different vector with it's transponder on, yes?

Which is first and which is second, how far apart in time? 

Does Lysia start her searches on the Serbian data system as she 
previously stated, or now that things have changed some, does she hold 
off on that?

I'm going to go with missing ships last 50 years.  DL it all and then search
here for the time frame.  Also going to check ships in port, ships just left
port, captains, cargo, time of departure.  Map of town.  Landing and
departure protocols, customs and immegration.

I'm not doing nothing till that's on anyways and I figure I need to be on the bridge to do this search anyways.

hear from Bruce how long you wait to do this. The /Blue Rain/ waited an 
hour while moving away from the /Mae Lee/ before "appearing" in the 
system. I figure the /Mae Lee/ will move away in the other direction so 
the two ships won't be too close together, and turn on the 
transponder...but how long will you wait? :)

Ricardo says "Lets give it an hour or so, and get out a space from 
where Shawn appeared. I'm for some lunch.  Lysia, let's wait until we 
can do the search quietly over a landline connection instead of using 
their bandwidth on a DB search. Serbia's small enough, they may not 
even have a big enough comms system for that. I wouldn't be surprised 
if the search didn't have to be done in their library."

Serbia is a backwater. A pretty little 
agricultural world with a population of about 3 
million. The Starport is only Class C, and the 
largest city, named MacDonald, on the planet is 
right beside the Starport.

The Hootish colony is centered around the city, 
actually only a town, located in the southern 
hemisphere, almost directly south of the Starport. 
The Hootish colony, and the town, share the name 
of New Zion. The New Zion colony has a population 
of roughly 20,000.

Yes, /Rain/ is still two hours out from orbit when /Mae Lee/ lights up 
her transponder and Ricardo starts to talk to Serbia Traffic Control. As 
to whether you hear it, that will depend on whether Ricardo narrrowcasts 
to Serbia or broadcasts.

The transponder goes on line announcing the /Mae Lee's/ presence to 
everyone in the system.

About four minutes later an automated signal from Serbia returns to you 
acknowledging you're transponder signal.

Two minutes later another transmission comes in, "Welcome to Serbia /Mae

tonner....um, well it never rains that it pours, I guess. All our 
berthing bays are going to be filled up. Another ship just came in, 
/Blue Rain/, and I've got them penciled in to have the last one. I can 
park you in a holding area north of the Tower where you can off load 
your cargo, but you won't be connected to the Port's services. However, 
if you can work out a swap with the Captain of the /Blue Rain/ it'll be 
all right with me. Over."

OOC: This return will be broadcast, so that Shawn *can* pick it up.

The rest of /Mae Lee's/ flight into Serbia is calm and uneventful, 
except for receiving calls from a pair of brokers asking about cargoes 
you might have aboard.

The rain will come in first and let Ricardo pick the time frame for the Lee.

OOC: Bruce, and others, can respond in non-linear time if they need to, 
but we can continue on for now.

Once everyone is transfered over and the two ships separate, Shawn 
vectors away using the stutter drive. An hour and 5.4 million klicks 
away from where he left the /Mae Lee/ he turns toward the main world.

About 4 minutes after turning on the transponder, a message come in from 
Serbian Traffic Control.

"Welcome to the Serbia system, /Blue Rain/. We have your transponder 
signal on our screens. Please state your intentions."

OOC: Traffic Control obviously didn't have you on their screens before 
you turned on the transponder...sensors aren't going to pick up ships at 
10's of millions of kilometers in this universe...and now they only know 
where you are and your course by tracking your transponder signal. You 
could be coming in to the main world, or heading for some place else in 
the system for all they know at this point. Transponders aren't all that 
sophisticated in this universe. They generally just sends the ship's 
name and other information that the ship's crew programs into them. It 
is certainly possible to reprogram a transponder to send a different 
name and false information, and various of the ethically challenged do 
so both in war and peace.

The papers that Ricardo and Cory made for you say that /Blue Rain/ is 
registered out of Argent, and that Shawn Smith has clear title to her. 
Any other details, like how long this crew has been together and whether 
you are paying them salaries or they share in the profits are up to you 
all to decide upon.

any cargo you might want to sell and asking if you're interested in 
picking up cargo for shipment. Ellis says she has 3 tons of freight 
heading for Mark that she would like to move. Link has two lots of 4 and 
10 tons heading for Newton and one 8 ton lot heading for Montrose.  They 
also probably have more freight lots, but knowing you can't carry large 
lots of cargo they haven't quoted it to you.
