Shawn and Ilane look the cargo over. There isn't a
large cargo area (only 10 dtons) and the little
ship's hold isn't full, but there are a few crates
and cargo containers. You find:

2 dton Herbs (Listed as Powdered Skola. You've
never heard of it, but from the listing is some
sort of spice.
	6,000 base.
	Buy mod Ag -4.
Sell mod Ag -3, In +1, Ri +2.)

1 dton Liquor (Stored in wooden barrels.
	10,000 base.
	Buy mod Ag -4.
Sell mod Ag -3, In +1, Ri +2.)

  1 dton Metal (Superdense plates.
	200,000 base.
Buy mod In -3, Ni +5, Ri -2.
Sell mod In -3, Ni +4, Ri -1.)

After sitting in the hold for 40 plus years, the
herbs might not be worth anything, the liquor
could go either way, but the metal plating should
be just as valuable now as when the former owner
bought it.

Shawn scratched his chin.

"We will sell the metal and check the others. Open several different cases. The booze might be
really smooth or trash. The spice might be beyond use. Let's check."

Shawn will tap several of the barrels and see if the booze is still good.

The liquor tastes smooth, very good in fact. The spice...you don't
know what it is supposed to look or taste like, but it looks like
dust and has a very nasty (to your palette) taste.

Ilane reflexively spits out the foul-tasting herb. "Augh! I think that stuff
is a lost cause, beloved..." The liquor, on the other hand, brings a little
smile to the ex dancer's face. "Oooo...I think that *this* is still good though!"

Shawn nodded.

"We will dump the spice as a loss. The booze is in good shape. Very good."

OOC: The cargo has the original dates on the manifest, correct Eris?

OOC: No. Do I look like someone that can cook? Well, we're not going to just dump it in space
now so Shawn will have some time to check out the name and ask more questions.

Shawn called Kelly and April to come give their opinions on the spice and booze.

"Can you two come check this out in the hold?"

He will offer them some samples.

April takes a taste of the the liquor first. Then
she'll wait awhile, drink some water and then sample
the spice.

Does she know what the spice is? And how its
supposed to taste?

April

While she is sampling, and Kelly too, Shawn will bring up a concern.

"What do we do when we get there? How do we start looking for the girl without raising a lot of
flags?"

April smiles. "Perhaps we need a nice tour of the
starport to begin with." She winks at Kelly.

No, neither April or Kelly recognize the spice or
the taste, but it tastes *bad* to both of you.

Kelly sets his sampling cup down with a sigh. "That is good stuff." He looks at April. "That's more April's area of expertise, I think."

Shawn smiled and looked at Ilane.

"I like that idea. We Need to get through all the arrival details and get someone to run what you think we need on the J-drive. After we get things in motion, then we can start. I'll leave it to you to get the engineering stuff in motion. I'll handle the others."

Yes, on the *original* manifest. The cargo is decades old, the ship
was in jump and drifting through space for that long. You have a
forged manifest, though, showing that you picked this all up on a
recent stop.

OOC: Any conversation with the two brokers that call and ask about
buying and selling as you fly the ship in?

Now that we know what we have, yes. Shawn will be ready to answer thier call. Shawn will see if he can find reference to the herb in the database as well.
